I'm new. Be gentle.
Everton are a great club - no doubt - and my Liverpool based relatives always supported them BUT Kieran is statin! His representatives have spoken to Everton as you might expect and they will say here is what you can get if you move HOWEVER he wants to stay! We will lose him one day but that is not now! HH

The thing that has amazed me in amongst all this is that it seemed to come as a shock to some that bids could come in for Tierney - It was always going to happen and it will continue to happen until the day he does go which I still hope will be after Celtic achieve 10iar.

It was a shock when Southampton looked like being relegated, it wasn’t when Liverpool’s other team looked like getting relegated, so aye there’s a difference.

Kieran Tierney has about 4 pubes the last time your mob beat your ‘rivals’.
Yes, because Southampton have stayed in the top division since when? Everton have played in the top division since 1955 or something. We may not beat that shower very much but that doesn't support any part of the argument that was being made. Everton is a great club. You ought to come and see it some day. Don't be fooled by the McDonalds franchise across the park. That's not football mate.
I went to see Everton vCoventry game was pish , we went
down for a pie and Coventry had scored 2 goals by the time
we had got back to our seats , I think Dion Dublin might have scored
for them.

Can't buy me love, love
Can't buy me love
I'll buy you a diamond ring my friend if it makes you feel alright
I'll get you anything my friend if it makes you feel alright
Cos I don't care too much for money, and money can't buy me love
I'll give you all I got to give if you say you'll love me too
I may not have a lot to give but what I got I'll give to you
I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love
Can't buy me love, everybody tells me so
Can't buy me love, no no no, no
Say you don't need no diamond ring and I'll be satisfied
Tell me that you want the kind of thing that money just can't buy
I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love

Not to clog the thread with Everton talk but they were the team that probably suffered most from the English ban from Europe, post Hysel. I liked that 80's team for their hard working, never say die attitude and Scottish front two. If KT goes then there are worse clubs he could go to, though I hope that whenever he keav s he goes directly to a champions league contender.
Agree with most of your post except the Scottish front 2 guys. Andy Gray = W*nk
 I was a wee boy back then and didn't know anything about Andy Gray, in my defence. This was pre-rangers too.

Fair dos to the Everton fan sticking up for his club. Everton are definitely a pedigree side in England. I don't think it'll come as any kind of surprise where people think they're at. In a lot of ways they're as much victims of new money football as we are in Scotland.

People sneer and say they could understand a top five club attracting Tierney but that was where Everton were at one point. If Chelsea ' s owner bought spurs as he wanted to do IIRC there probably wouldn't even be a Chelsea today. Everything has skewed since Sky got involved and clubs like Everton have taken a hit one way while we've been whacked another way.

Bottom line though is Everton haven't done much for a while in their respective situation, so with rumoured interest from teams who get into the CL I think that's why people can't get their head around chosing this as a first option.

Ok fine. My pals da is ITK and says we are after Rooney.

Can we start a thread?

Naw, why because it's jist something someone said or heard.

It's the same with KT. Nothing official from anywhere and we are still hypothesising over it for days on end.

I guess it's not what you know but who you think knows something.
It’s posters with a track record, and more than one of them. If Rooney was a genuine rumour and turned out to be true then folk would notice if and when it happened that you got something right. People would then bear that in mind in future, like they’re doing now. And everyone’s mileage varies with these bits of hearsay.

Seriously?

City are actually nearly back in their original stamping grounds of West Gorton and Ardwick. They have literally pumped hundreds of millions of pounds into the regeneration of east Manchester and have (I’d argue) one of the best community schemes in the UK which they fund entirely charitably unlike just about any other club in the UK (I’d even go as far to say it is arguable that their community scheme is better than Charlton and QPR who have been way ahead of everyone for yonks). They were one of first clubs to have an SLO and their fan liaison nowadays is par excellence. They do have a lot of jumped up Jonny come lately fans and tourists following them now, but in their most recent periods in Div 2 and Div3 (old money) they were attracting 30k crowds and sold out every away ground. Last season, they had second cheapest ST which was £100 cheaper than next cheapest and only £10 more than the cheapest (West Ham). There are minuses too (eg buying up local talent to detriment of other clubs and kids themselves) and they may have won the lottery, but they ARE by any definition a community club.

Everton have a very good and strong connection with their community but - post WWII - they have never been one of the “big five” consistently if ever (and I’m not saying City have). They are up there with Villa, Wednesday, Newcastle, Sunderland, Sheffield Utd, Wolves, Preston, Bolton, Burnley and Blackburn - trading on long-past glories when football was always in black and white, players wore brylcreem and tacked boots, and footballs were like medicine balls.

As for those dissing Everton, whilst it would undoubtedly be a lateral move, so was Southampton for Wanyama and VvD and look at them now.
I’ve not understood why people are dissing Everton . In English football Everton are a massive club. Before the influx of foreign money they were a far bigger club than either Chelsea or Man City. Granted theyre not as good as they once were, but they’re still a huge club. They are easily a bigger club than Southampton
No, they weren’t. And no, they’re not.

They are mid-table also-rans who’ve been rubbish since about 1984...at best.

They had a purple patch for two years in the late 60s and another in the 80s and that is it. In Scottish terms, they’re comparable with Kilmarnock.

I know, they're not even a big team on Merseyside! KT is going nowhere, certainly not to sodding Everton for Christ's sake!

I know this is the KT thread and I don't want to get off topic, but mate you are not getting away with that.

Man City are funded by a despotic government that operates a system of slave labour, treats women as 2nd class citizens, and stones people to death. Though I guess that's what you meant by "There are minuses too"

You might as well have written "Pablo Escobar was a poltician and real estate tycoon. He built many properties and leisure facilities in Colombia. He did have a controversial side, but you can't deny he was a big character"

What a load of crap. I have left this thread alone deliberately, but for the latest poster to have a pop at Everton like this is pathetic. You obviously know nothing about English football mate, as Everton won two leagues, a Cup Winners Cup and were denied entry to the European Cup at the time by the antics of our neighbours after 1984. Tierney may or may not come here, but rest assured that (taking into account your Kilmarnock jibe) he will be involved in far more testing games than he will have in Scotland. I love Celtic, so will not slate the league in which they play. I will say though, that until these foreign investors turned up we were still competitive. Now that we are owned by a fella with a few bob we are looking to compete again, and the likes of Tierney may help us. I have studied him, however, and I reckon he will struggle physically in the Premier League. The standard in Scotland generally is nowhere near the standard down here. I hope Tierney succeeds, at Celtic, at Goodison, or wherever he finishes up. I'll leave you in ignorance about Southampton's standing compared to Everton's in English football. Good luck to the Celts this coming season. Stevie G will really push you......
Aye right. Give yourself peace. Everton are mince. Half of my pals are blues and even they wouldn't come out with that crap. Everton are, at best, pish. KT would need his effin head read if he was even considering it.

Bitter blue :nono:
