He’s got nothing left to achieve at us. If he doesn’t go and make the money available elsewhere he’s very naive.

We just better invest the fee into the team.
To play in a Celtic team that can surely achieve 10IAR would be every Celtic fans dream ? Then leave with that legacy behind you.

No bids for Tierney and none wanted

Paul674th July 2018
Despite reports to the contrary, Celtic have not received a bid for Kieran Tierney and are not impressed by media attempts unsettle the squad. Kieran recently signed a six-year contract. Celtic expect the player to be an integral part of team building over the next several years. Having only just turned 21, they also expect his value to continue to appreciate.

Celtic do not have to sell and do not want to sell. We are a well managed club with money available to fulfill strategic plans. We have recruitment plans and budget in place for this summer; we are not planning to recruit a first choice left back or spend an unexpected windfall. This attention is unwelcome and a distraction from Champions League preparations.

I also hear Kieran’s agent is relaxed with the player at Celtic and not agitating for a move. I suspect Everton have let their trusted outlets know they are interested in the player, but it has not gone beyond that stage.

If Tierney stays, we need cover for him. If he goes, we need two left backs.

I wouldn't mind taking Shinnie for cover if we can get him cheap. I'd be hoping we would be looking for a nailed on starter left back in addition to that.
Six posts later the “as cover” has been dropped from the subsequent discussion. That’s pretty quick, even by KDS standards.

Thoughts and prayers, if you can even be bothered repeating what you actually said. ;)

Had time to think about it and if he goes we might feel disappointed but we won't fall apart, we have lost more important players in the past with no or very little fee so 25M will allow us to fill gap and maybe fill the gap with a better player, i think the fact KT is one of us and has just signed a long term deal is making this one hard to swallow, my thinking is it wouldn't come as a shock to hear he has signed an improved deal but if he goes he goes, we can cry and moan about it but it won't change it.

It is a strange one that he signed a big deal then apparently wants to leave, i haven't heard or seen any stories about internal problems and he is loved by the fans, management and his team mates so the only explanation is money, if he wanted to try his luck in the EPL he wouldn't have signed that deal so something has turned his head, would he want to miss out on the history making 10 in a row ? would a massive celtic fan not want to be remembered in the clubs history for achieving that ? something just seems wrong about this one but if a player doesn't want to be here for any reason then punt them for as much as you can get and replace them.

If that's the level were shopping at then were dammed if Tierney goes, Whilst he would provide adequate cover for KT signing him to replace gives me the fear  However i don't exactly trust Lee Cogerton to provide a suitable replacement either given his track record.

Nonsense. There is plenty more he can achieve here.

Becoming a better player for a start. There is a lot of improvement left in Tierney and he is at a good place to learn.

Not impressed by media attempts.... eh whit?. Our manager spoke at length on the issue ffs. If the club didn't want a media frenzy why didnt Rodgers simply state Tierney was going nowhere, end of? Beyond belief.
