I get it but really? Our finest product in a generation bolts for Everton? Nah. Not having that. Lateral move in footballing terms at best.
It's not about the team for the most part; it's about the league, the teams Tierney will face week in, week out. OK there is no Champions League but there is two games against Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Man U, Spurs, Liverpool etc at a big, ambitious club. Add in four or five times his current salary and it makes some of the stuff being aimed at Tierney look pretty effing ridiculous. Grown men gettin on like jilted girlfriends.
Dont act like you're above it murphio after some of the meltdowns you've had on here

No one would have an issue with, say, Dembélé making a similar move, or if Forrest was good enough to get a move like that, him either.

For me it's the Mr Celtic megaphone antics that start to look a bit badge kisser-ish, as well as leaping at such an early age.

This is of course ultimately the exact same thing that has ruined the much stronger Dutch and Portuguese leagues and is destroy the club game generally - sky's infinite bags of money letting rubbish clubs pick and choose the best talent from clubs like Ajax, PSV, Porto, Sporting Lisbon before those clubs have any chance to develop a team around them, so we have no chance when we produce a single player of that level I suppose.

It's all about the team Murph. It's completely about the team. There's a reason why no one expected him to go to somewhere like Stoke or Leicester because it's clearly about the team. He could make big money there too and play in big games.

You don't sign for Everton based on who they could be, a bunch of talents did that last season. You take a look at who they are. They are a middling EPL team and happy in that gap.

Like I said, a lateral football move and one that he probably didn't have to make. I really believe a direct move to Man Utd or Chelsea was doable for KT.

Left back is one of the most difficult slots to fill for the big teams. He could quite easily go to Man U given what they have

Everton is absolutely baffling. He’ll be under all sorts of pressure given the fee and wages

Well it worked for Wanyama, Van Dijk, Forster, they all got the moves that they wanted
i didn't see Hooper playing for England though.
The only person who thought Hooper was good enough to play for England was Hooper himself

I don't enjoy losing good players any more than anyone else. But cmon to eff some of this stuff is beyond ridiculous. Of course I'd rather he stayed but if he does leave he'll go with my best wishes - same as Virgil and Wanyama did.

BTW... the only mistake Charlie Nicholas made was choosing Arsenal over Liverpool. Had he went to Anfield I think his career path would have taken a completely different trajectory. Leaving Celtic was not his mistake; going to Highbury was.
Agreed. He must look back and regret that move.

I don’t think he is quite ready to be a Chelsea or Man Utd player - yet. Everton is probably the best move for him at the minute if he wishes to make a name for himself in England (and make a fortune into the bargain).

EPL is hyped, two games a season against Huddersfield, Leicester,Watford, Wolves n whatever dross got promoted.
A big ambitious club? Turn it up. Everton are not in the same class as Celtic,
Was at Goodison last year for their game vrs Man City, piss poor team n piss poor atmosphere.
Only thing that will be better is the bank balance.

And yet you're saying that Tierney going to a club that has made the top four once in about 20 years is a decent move.

Anyway Nicholas' wage demands at Celtic weren't exactly outrageous. But the board wanted to pocket the fee for him. Not the first time that a player who didn't really want to go was flogged. We also lost Billy McNeill that summer and it wouldn't have been his choice to leave all this h's being equal.

And given the money down there, this is Everton getting in quick before bigger beasts come calling. A steal. Gutted.

Charlie was too thick and minted to regret anything. It`s a common flaw in some players.

I don't believe that. Any player who leaves Celtic for Arsenal and whose next move is to Aberdeen knows things have gone far from well.

If its true that its Everton , i dont get it. With all the allegedly interested teams listed including Spurs , wouldn't we wait to see what other bids came in ? If it was Spurs i'd understand. They have a real chance of winning things , great players , good manager and are moving into a world class stadium. Everton wont be winning anything. They have a crap ground , managerial merry go round and an inferiority complex with the red half of the city.

Look at it the other way

Do you think if Celtic were in for Gylfi Sigurdsson he'd leave Everton to play in the Scottish Premiership ?
