WTF with giving the lad a hard time?

He's a fan that has been nothing but outstanding for us - and has just gifted us upwards of £25m by the sound of it.

There isn't anyone here that wouldn't take the money being offered to him. If not they should be having a wee look at getting their effing life priorities sorted out ffs.
There are plenty here who wouldnt take the money as they are getting ridiculous money to fulfill their dream. Especially to join everton. Maybe a bit different if a big club where in for you , but even then many celtic fans would stay at celtic.
It's kind of not that ridiculous money though when you actually sit and do the maths.

About £25k for another 10 years if he is good enough to maintain that kind of form? £6.5m after tax. That has to last over what, 60 odd years of his remaining life? £100 odd grand a year. That's before buying a house, car, living expenses as a young footballer etc. It's hardly poverty but by the same token it's a long way off the kind of life he can have and leave for his family within just a few years of playing in the EPL. He'll be on a sign on fee alone that'll probably cover multiple years wages at Celtic.

Incredibly simplified but you get the point. I'll be as gutted as the rest but I'll never castigate the boy for choosing to secure his and his families lives over sentimentality.

There are EIGHT and a HALF weeks left until the transfer window closes plus nobody really knows what transfer deals the club are pursuing (that’s as it should be !) ....

... and yet we get “weaker team” and "poor window” plus unfounded criticism of the club’s management and supposed targets etc., etc. ...

... have a word a few of you .. just because it’s not happening quickly enough for you doesn’t mean it’s not happening ! And i bet you opened your Xmas presents early !

You judge a season at the end - not before the first game’s played. Likewise with the transfer window - wait until it’s closed and then comment on how good or bad it was.
Remy

Genuine Question.

If we make it past the Armenians we could face Rosenborg with a defence of Ralston/Hendry, Ajer, Simunovic and Calvin Miller. Are you comfortable with that ?

We are the same club that played Tony Stokes as a lone striker in the qualifiers. I have seen too many shambolic transfer windows to give them the benefit of the doubt. We are not good at closing transfer deals.
Take it no one was on the Transfer Thread yesterday.

“Gifted us”

Hahahaha.
 indeed.

It’s almost as if Celtic didn’t develop him for 10 years+ and then give him shampooloads of money to play football.

If you sign a 6-year deal, say its long-term then eff off at the first opportunity then you deserve all the crap from the fans you get. There are ways of doing things and that isn't it.

The wages he's on currently could set anyone up for life.

I know I'd want to stick around for 10 in a row if I was in his shoes, and especially given the relationship with the fans.

I hope it's not true
with Celtic after deductions he'll clear more in a month than my top line annually, however most professional football players are influenced by 2 things, money and lots of money

It’s not my post Corky. It’s from someone last night. I made the point that we have qualifiers, and having heard that Tierney was away at weekend, plus no Boyata or Lustig for a while, and with no signings in the offing bar the unneeded John McGinn, this is a disastrous, yet profitable, transfer window so far.

I want us in the CL. I don’t trust a defence with Ralston/Miller or Hendry to get us there.

Could be that was done to maximise the transfer fee. No one knows what is going on in the back ground.
