Image rights would almost certainly have been agreed in the contract, I'm not convinced that you would change agent to get more out of Adidas, I don't think that a new agent would see that bringing in good money for them.

My understanding is that it's Stellar Group that's his new agents and you don't have them representing you to get an improved boot contract, they're among the very best in the business and get their players great moves and deals.
I’m more of the mind he wanted a new agent and his best mate Paddy recommended Stellar, who represent him.

If they were an agency purely out to earn their clients big bucks and architect moves, we’d probably never have got Rodgers and he’d have been away by now too, seeing as they’re his agents too.
Players don't change agent just because they fancy changing.

Then why do players have “full time” agents? If they’re only for transfer deals, why don’t they just pick one whenever they want to move club and then end it when the deal is done?

Agents do tons of stuff for players beyond transfers, partly because players are pampered eejits who wouldn’t know how to wipe their own arse without help.

They don't have full-time agents. Max an agent can sign a player for is 2 years. Many agents don't have contracts with their clients and they just deal on trust.

Players change agents because they want a better move than their old agent can come up with.

That’s my point. If an agent is only for transfer deals, why would a player sign up to an agent for two years? Why not just sign up for a few weeks when you want to move club?

You might be right, Brendan's agent was Stellar when he came here and to all intents and purposes got him a great deal, he also has managed in the EPL and has said no rush as he plans to be a manager for a long time.

My thoughts are that KT signed a new 6 year deal then changed agent to one that is among the best in the business at getting their players great deals and moves, Celtic aren't going to renegotiate a 6 year contract with a player who is 6 months into it so a new deal isn't on the cards.

I hope I'm wrong and we get another couple of years out of him, I think Brendan will help him develop and improve as a player, he has great potential but has a fair bit to go and I think being here, where the fans love him and will cut him a lot of slack as he makes the odd mistake and learns from it, gets trophies and more Champions League experience will mean when he does go he'll be a better player for it.

Because it depends on the agent. If the player really wants to be with the agent he'll sign for 2 years. If he just wants the agent or the then he'll do it that way and he'll get the deal done and take the money. Players like to have an agent so they have someone on the end of the phone to tell them how to get internet in their home!

I would doubt KT's agent is Full Time, he has a good family around him, doesn't live abroad so won't need an agent to buy his house, check out schools for kids or hold his passport in case he loses it, basically as you said wipe their backside.

Agents make their money from negotiating new deals for their clients with their club, which had already been agreed and signed before Stellar became his agent but mostly from transfers, if a player is 6 months into a 6 year deal there's basically no money in it for the agent until the player signs a new deal or moves, their cut of any boot or clothing deal they would negotiate would be negligible.

Again, that’s my point. Someone said the only reason to change agents would be if the player wanted a move. My point is that agents do loads more stuff than transfers.

Also, when i said “full time” I meant that the player is contracted to that agent, and vice versa, for a number of years. Again, if agents were only for transfers there’s be no need to sign up to an agent for that length of time.
