With no comment from Celtic or Tierney to quell the speculation I'm less and less confident that Tierney will be playing for us again in a competitive match.

Because Everton are genuinely interested
Well that, or the fact that Celtic don't comment on media speculation, if they did they would be issuing statements every day

Keiran can't quell transfer speculation any more than he has. Are we meant to issue statements after every hun facing article on our players?

He can quite easily quell the speculation.

This “speculation” hasn’t originated with the media.
It's Everton that leaked it to the media

If he is to leave, which I still can't see, so be it but I will be disappointed like everyone else. Money talks at the end of the day and whilst it's true it's a short career I still think he could do with another year or two at us. I think he could do better than Everton to be honest. Whatever happened to the Atletico Madrid link? Haven't heard much since they sent scouts to watch him

I’ll take your word for that. The speculation on here hasn’t come from Everton though.

Everton have become notorious now for briefing the media of their moves, it cost their current manager Marco Silva his job at Watford as it unsettled him and the team, they were briefing against Sam Allardyce in the run up to sacking him, I think the media knew he was sacked before he did and have been doing the same over their new stadium plans. Or possibly his new agents who don't really get much in the way of money out of the player unless the he moves, so let it out that the player could be tempted and get a fair cut for themselves.

Speculation on here has been as a result of the press & media, outside that no one on here probably knows exactly what is going on

So where is the speculation coming from then? People keep saying it is not the club so why not say where. As far as I can see regarding Tierney’s side it is coming from people on here who have no previous for being in the know. The press have said there might be a bid coming in giving us and the player a decision to make and Rodgers has commented on that but that is all there has been. I know players in the past have said one thing then done another but for the life of me after signing a six year deal then doing and saying all the things he has it would have to be some turnaround. The whole thing is bizarre.

You have been consistent on this to be fair - convinced it was gospel from day 1 and been worst casing it since
I was convinced there was something in it from Brendan Rodgers comments, followed by comments from other sources who have been spot on with transfer info in the past.

I thought also there was something in other people's info who seem to know the player.

Only one side is going to be right and KT has been clamped from talking about it in Austria.

He's commented on speculation many times before, being 'flattered' when Spurs and Man Utd were linked.

Celtic could quite easily shut this down with a two line statement. They've done it before.

If you've got a better case scenario, I'd be hoping you're right.

Indications from a couple of posters that this might be driven by KT make it credible and the fact there has been no denial from Celtic or KT, coupled with BR's cryptic press conference.
Reasonable grounds for speculation

Seems a bit too fast to be real, especially considering How Happy he said he is.

Maybe like Dembele there is conversations of what comes next, and this is BR’s way of getting potential buyers paying more attention over the coming season.

Dembele could now stay until Jan, and if Tierney went at the end of next season then it will have been 12 months to really put themselves in the shop window.

That’s what I’m telling myself anyway.

Don’t go Kieran

So as I said it is just KDS speculation. Celtic cannot comment on speculation. They can comment on a bid if it comes in though. Rodgers comments were similar to the Dembele situation in January and he is still here.

Of course its speculation

But has some credibility, or it's less easy to dismiss for the reasons I gave (imo anyway)

KT is free to comment though

And will be back playing Charlton port vale and the like
soon enough.
I doubt that will be any time soon
i live in Bham , Wolves will be staying up , they have massive financial backing . Think if KT was going to go it would have to be to a top 6 team down here. At the start of almost every season - Leicester aside - you can pick the top 6 before a ball is kicked . So if you want to play in Europe theres no point going anywhere else. I think KT will stay for 10 before he goes.

If he leaves, he leaves.

I’ll not be crying into my cornflakes like some.

He’s a young guy who has the chance to double his salary and more.
Who, at 21 years old, would’ve said no thanks to that?

Yes, he’s proclaimed to be here ‘long term’ but he’s only 21. I was changing my mind about stuff every two minutes.

If he does go I’ll wish him all the best but will never watch him play again as I’ve no interest in the EPL.

We’ll bank a huge fee and move on. My only reservation will be if we actually spend a sizeable chunk of the money and properly strengthen the side.

Absolutely.

The speciation which appeared on here at the weekend didn’t come from the media or from Celtic or Everton. People can take that or leave it, but it doesn’t look like anyone is going to be more specific than that.

Celtic can easily comment on speculation. They do it when it’s in their interests to do so, despite claiming never to do so. Everyone in football does what is in their best interests. If Tierney is staying it’s in the club and his interest to say so. If he’s potentially leaving then it’s best for everyone involved to stay quiet until something definitive happens. And right now everyone is staying quiet.
