Lad who told me Paddy wouldn't be signing permanently during his first spell here. For which I got roundly pilloried.

He's involved with Man City though, so not sure how he knows of an impending bid from Wolves...
Wolves have a silly amount of money to spend. Wouldn’t be surprised if they were to bid and offer us Barry Douglas as part of the deal.
Barry Douglas should have been signed as KT’s back up last year. Missed a trick.

Tierney isn’t our best player though.
I said in my opinion he is but obviously not in every celtic fans opinion.
he’s nowhere near being our best player
Really? Nowhere near being our best player?
Must have been some other young guy who picked up those young player of the year awards.
We have a few really good players, in my opinion Kieran is in our top 3 players.

Talked to a boy in the pub tonight and he says that Boca are interested...

Ok , it could be a load of manure but so are most of the posts on here in the past few days

When KT decides to talk , I will listen.

Problem is our wage structure. If another team is willing to pay 25/30M for KT and we don't let him go, we would then need to pay him what a 25/30M player gets paid which we can't justify. We would need to let him go and move on.

Do we have anyone in the youth team ready to step up or will we need to look elsewhere for a player. If it's the latter I can't say I have much confidence in our scouting setup.

Daniel Church would probably be the best prospect in the youths, but he’s very young. Still, if we have to bring someone in as backup or as replacement for KT (perish the thought), we wouldn’t want to block Church’s progress. Man U were reportedly trying to sign him when he turned 16.

Regardless of whether he leaves or not the most important thing from our point of view immediately becomes who replaces him. Miller is clearly not ready (with huge question marks over whether he ever will be) and Hayes isn't a wing back we'll be able to trust in games where the opposition put effort into attack.

Surely, with the acknowledgement that KT is our 2nd most valuable asset, our scouting department have a constant evolving list of players who could step into that role?

Can you clarify what you actually think is going on with Tierney then?
In my opinion, Everton have notified Celtic of their interest in Tierney and rather than putting up a fight like any other club does for their key players we've told him he's free to speak with them - which'll in turn put ideas in his head, and probably be a bit of a slap in the face to him.
I think Celtic are displaying themselves as a club that doesn't stand in the way of talent going on to bigger things. From the manager to the players, we've heard the same kind of chat.

It's healthy. Shows our confidence. Players can trust us to do the right thing by them. It's a good tactic for keeping players. They don't feel the need to leap at the first opportunity

Bournemouth and Wolves? *boak* A pair of no-mark nouveau riche clubs.

At least Everton have a wee bit of history behind them. Proper community club, too. I'm pretty sure the players are obligated to spend a certain number of hours per month volunteering with local charities.

There are worse clubs, I suppose.
No grasp of history re Wolves there really. Stick to watching Liverpool.
Wolves are very much a 'community club' and they have a very proud history.

They also have the kind of money now to really kick on and establish themselves in the top flight. I cant see them going for tierney though.

Yes they have history in the same way as Queens Park. They were big more than 60 years ago. The claim to fame over the last thirty years has been a touchline stand that makes the ends at Hampden seem close to the pitch.

There just the latest English team with owners who make a mockery of the idea of running a club prudently.

I don’t think going to Everton from Celtic is going to bigger things.Of course there is a big gap financially and that why players might go but I wouldn’t think of selling our better players unless they want to go.Hartson said that when he scored 2 goals on his debut for wba after he left us he got a real buzz but he said scoring in front of 20000 wba wasn’t the same buzz as when he scored in front of 60000 celtic fans.

I can. It would be a good club to join. Play attractive, attacking football and have huge financial backing.. Good fan base too.

Id hope KT knows that his development is as valuable to us as it is to him and that we'd do right by him, as mentioned above. He still has room to grow and hopefully doesnt find things at the club too suffocating.

It's not really in the same way as queens park though. Wolves have one of the largest away supports outside the premiership, they could easily be as big as a lot of EPL clubs.

Which in no way makes them a “community club”. They haven’t been a “community club” since Jack Hayward sold up a decade ago. They’re only a “community club” in the sense they are the sole professional club in the town.
