KT has literally got the world at his feet. He is as everyone on here always says the best LB in Britain (often compared to Shaw and Robertson). I agree and would love to see him shine at (sic) a big club and every other punter appreciate his talent.
I get the resentment with some but I think it is the pain of losing him, a knee jerk reaction to a perceived betrayal. Dalglish left Celtic a brilliant player to go on to become a Celtic and Liverpool legend with the whole world hailing him as an immense talent. I want the same for KT.
Kenny was 26 y/o when he left Celtic, had won the lot and been captain and a member of 9 in a row.

KT just turned 21 y/o and played just over 100 games, not captain, no decent run in europe yet and not a member if he goes of 9 and/or 10 in a row.

if KT goes right now he'll be remembered far more like Macari and there is not a chance in hell KT is remembered as a Celtic great; he is simply not here long enough or done enough right now... if he goes in 2 or 3 years thats different.

Also spare me the EPL fanboy rubbish.. in the nicest possible sense i don't real care where anyone goes after Celtic, i don't wish them harm but i won't be following is career like he's an extension of Celtic and doubt many others will... i really don't a flying eff if people hail an immense talent if its not in a Celtic shirt, goes for any other player too.. in england he's just another guy.
Kenny also went to join probably the best club side the UK has ever seen in that Liverpool side....and I still hated him for it.

Anyway daft comparison, he was streets ahead off where KT is now as a player.

Can't see KT leaving as I've always thought his heart was set on being a Celtic legend.
Captain of the team that clinches 10 in a row.
Then move on at 24, safe in the knowledge he'll be regarded by the fans he loves as a hero for ever more.

No matter what he does, he'll be minted.
I'd say a lifelong legacy - and one that you will be able to live off for the rest of your life - would be more pertinent to young Kieran and his family.
Otherwise, head to Everton and he could be on the way down by the age of 23 after having his confidence eroded by playing with a poor team.

I'm confident Kieran Tierney will be here for 10 in a row!
Playing for Everton certainly eroded Lukaku’s confidence, Never receovered from it. Oh wait.....

Why the feck would he want to move to Everton anyway?
I agree he should be aiming higher but if he’s first choice he has a lot more scope to improve down there as a footballer. That’s what this will be mainly about from his side of it, the money is an added bonus.

KT has proved his worth in the SPL. He has played against the best players in Europe and, at his age has showed amazing composure, maturity and attitude. If a sale is on then thats what is for sale. Everton? -no Champions League games, a club who thought big Sam was the answer to something at one time.Everton is like many clubs in the Premiership, mediocre but awash with EPL zillions.
KT might thrive there but will win no trophies but willl earn a huge wedge while Everton wait for him to mature then move him on. At £25million he will probably double his price if he stays on course.
Virgil was sold for 14 mill to southampton for £14M and in less than 3 years to Liverpool for £80M
If I were Celtic i would announce a 'no less than £45 million for KT' to the press and leave it at that. If clubs like Real Madrid, barca, PSG, Juventus, Man Utd, clubs of real pedigree come calling then Keiran can choose the best offer for his development as a footballer, the fee will not be a problem for any of them and his wages would be roughly the same at any of them.
We will have to let him go eventually, he is not a one season wonder and Celtic do not need to sell him
So whats the problem?
What part are people not getting? It's not Celtic trying to get rid. Why set a nonsense price of £45m, which no-one will pay, and keep an unhappy player? If he is for the off, I don't care where he goes so long as it's the highest bid on the table.

He's played in the CL? Big deal. Most of his performances have not been great. Naylor performed better in the CL overall.

VVD wanted a move and was told he'd not be getting one, went in a huff for a bit then came back to play well.

If Tierney is that unhappy, he can add an Academy Award to his trophy cabinet because it didn't come across in his performances, unless something dramatic has happened in the last few weeks and he never wants to pull the shirt on again.

Last year, Spurs were linked with him. I can see why he'd move there. Everton would be a mistake IMO, but if his heart is set on it, so he can play round Andy Robertson's house after the game, then fair enough.

But I don't particularly care where he goes. I'll probably see him in the same amount of games in the next three years as I saw Van Dijk for Southampton, ie about two or three.

No chance. Where he goes will say a lot more about his ambition. He's leaving for money. If he's leaving for anything else, he'll be holding out for one of the bigger teams, or a move to a team in a more technical league such as Germany (World Cup aside, they're usually pretty good at football).

Not as I see it. It only took VVD 18 months doing the exact same thing.

But as someone pointed out earlier, there are probably better clubs than Everton he would likely become first choice at quite quickly.

I think Man Utd was the example used, who have currently been using Ashley Young at left-back with the absolute mess that is Luke Shaw as back-up, who has been repeatedly chastised by Mourinho. KT would walk into that team

Spurs are the one of the teams with supposedly concrete interest. Danny Rose is apparently a cert to depart this summer, leaving Ben Davies as the only real option. Could KT dislodge him from the side? I certainly do, particularly with a manager like Pochettino being well known for giving chances to younger players.

He really can do better than Everton, it's not disrespectful to them to say so.

So, after all these pages... Has there been an official bid made, or a request to speak to KT?

It’s incoming. It was reported from the Everton end and repeated by David Friel, who is in Austria, pretty much all at the same time.

Someone also stuck in here a part of Paul Joyce’s article where Tierney is said to be interested, he doesn’t get much wrong with Liverpool/Everton.

He's a cracking wee player, with massive potential, but he's far from the finished article. People on here who think he'd stroll straight into the starting line up at one of the top 4 clubs are getting a bit carried away. He's got a lot to work on, especially passing, positioning, crossing.

Could be a guaranteed starter on a EPL challenging team down the line, but not yet.

We just got Edouard for under £10m and people are wanting £45m for Tierney because some English club with more money than sense paid another English club with more money than sense a ridiculous fee for a shampooe player. The quicker people realize we are not part of the English market the better.

£25m for KT is a cracking price. I'd hope that he doesn't leave but there are a few other players in the team I'd rather keep tbh.

Canny see him going to to a club outside the top 4. I get the impression he's looking on at Robertson with envy though.

My source is as tenuous.

He came up with them and played a couple of seasons here and there in the PL. Doubt it'll be as low as 10 though.

Effing hell.

I was expecting a busy summer with that revolving door Rodgers spoke about in January that didnt actually happen, but KT was the last player I thought would be going through it. We already need at least 2 defenders, its absolutely criminal if we let him go before we buy anyone.
