Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
The OP mentioned KT watching players leaving quadrupling thier wages, I imagine Broonie could have done similar, fees weren`t mentioned.
nah, nobody was going to give broony 100k+ a week
Well the likes of Steven Davis and James McArthur are on around £60k a week down there.

Broony isn’t a worse player than either of them and so could’ve quite easily doubled his wage with a move. He didn’t, he stayed loyal to the club and this is a guy who supported Hibs as a boy. The grass isn’t always greener in the overrated pish that is the English premiership.

And this notion that a player staying at Celtic would be a pauper is utter bullshampoo. You don’t need to earn £100k a week to be made for life. Tierney is only 21 and has plenty of time to make a move that’ll bring in the truly big bucks.

What would this supposed £25m be spent on?
Covering some of the difference between the CL and Europa prize money, by the looks of things

Very difficult to qualify when you've four ties to play.

A lot of posters really haven't adjusted to the new reality. The days of the one-club Celtic legend effectively ended when Sky signed its first £bn deal with the EPL. When Danny McGrain and Paul McStay were idols, they were earning a few multiples of what skilled workers were earning. Now a Scottish professional footballer can go from earning £750k a year to earning £3m/£4m a year for five years by signing a piece of paper. Anybody who thinks Danny or Paul wouldn't have done the same is dreaming. It's sad but there it is. KT can set his family up for generations if he gets good advice. I hope he waits a year or two but I won't be slagging him off if he doesn't want to chance missing out.
Or he could stay at Celtic win trophies earn 15 or 20K a week, retire and his family would still be fine.
So long as he stays injury free from the hammer throwers in the SPL. It's a short career, and most would opt for finacial security for life. Hope he stays, good luck to him if he goes .

Some of the stuff on this thread is reminding me of that piece of commentary when Cuellar gave away the penalty ...

Kieran Tierney....player of the year...now he’s a dick :ph43r:

My tuppence worth....would obviously like him to stay but better than him have left and Celtic seems to have survived

Think it's the cheek of it.

'Six years... If that doesn't say long term, I don't know what does.'

Aye Kieran.

Would take Baines off them of he doesn't fancy winding down yet. Would get a couple of years out of him - basically what we were hoping for from KT.

Your idealistic approach is admirable but it's effing nonsense. I want Tierney to accomplish great things in his life, things unimaginable from this vantage point. Playing for Celtic is a dream very few get to experience but it's not the limit of what's possible for a talent like his.

It's not all about money either, it's about fulfilling his potential not putting a lid on it to satisfy some ideal that somebody else put there.
If he goes, or rather when he goes, I hope it's to the biggest club he can find, one that wins the big ones, that puts him in the kinds of games that are worldwide history makers. I want him to blow the doors off his career for every wee boy who thinks they can't do it for whatever reason. That some kid from Lanarkshire (I know where he was born thanks) can hang with the big boys and hold his own.
We'll survive, hell even blossom. We have a great manager and he'll make sure we keep going in the right direction.
KT will go with my admiration and blessing. I love the kid but i'd be indulging my own selfishness by criticizing him for going for it.

Can't see KT leaving as I've always thought his heart was set on being a Celtic legend.
Captain of the team that clinches 10 in a row.
Then move on at 24, safe in the knowledge he'll be regarded by the fans he loves as a hero for ever more.

No matter what he does, he'll be minted.
I'd say a lifelong legacy - and one that you will be able to live off for the rest of your life - would be more pertinent to young Kieran and his family.
Otherwise, head to Everton and he could be on the way down by the age of 23 after having his confidence eroded by playing with a poor team.

I'm confident Kieran Tierney will be here for 10 in a row!

25 Million would buy an awful lot of left fullbacks for the SPL.
