Would be surprised to see Tierney in a rush to leave so early in his career. But folk who were expecting him to spend his entire career here and watch teammate after teammate leave for the EPL and a quadrupling of their wages were living in a fantasy world.
not one person expected that.. nearly everyone thought he'd be here for 10 and go same summer BR did.

yes folk hoped he might stay his entire career but no one really believes it.

I get the fact he might move on at some point but it's always puzzeled me at what point do you say "Nope £20K a week is not enough I can'r afford to ........"

The point where you realise you could get a career ending injury at any time and the 20 grand a week isn't nailed on for the next 10 years , so you go for the 60 grand a week in case you've only got 3 years left

If we are willing to let someone who has just signed a contract go then eff it, why not sell Rogic for £10m and Eddie as well, we could get loads for him. If KT wants to go then he can wait til January. We shouldn't capitulate here or we will show that our contracts mean piss all imo. That's a big IF.

Couple of other things that might/might not be factors:

- maybe he doesn’t fancy playing in a back three
- seeing Andy Robertson playing in the CL final
Naw just naw. The European Cup Final thing is pure daftness. Even if he was moving to Man U or City it is a long shot. Liverpool and Roberston's season was pretty flukey. Just like this World Cup is.
How was Liverpool’s season flukey? They have one of the best attacks in world football, they beat Man City (the top team in England) three times last season, and that was their second European final in three seasons. Every chance they’ll be there or thereabouts again next year.
Flukey as in a lot of things lined up not only through their own hard work and skill but through luck of draw and the stronger teams being at their weakest in a long time and having other things to concentrate on unlike Liverpool.

I think Liverpool will be a stronger and better team next season but doubt they'll make even the semis. As for Everton....

Well, no. But up against EBT united in its death throes.

McGeady investment laid foundations of this march to 10 tho.
We were out of Europe before the end of August - losing to the likes of Braga and Utrecht.

Its Rodgers - I am led to believe - who says that overhauling the first team like that is difficult. Probably based on his own experience with Suarez and the aftermath.

Fair enough. You cited two teams who arguably didn’t strengthen the full team after a big player sale. I showed we’ve already did it once - laying foundations for 10 and relative European success. Whether we can do it again remains to be seen.

I get that but lets say the lad is on £15 a week. Last year he made £375k. There's nae danger most of us will make that in our lifettime.

Good friend of mines played with Kieran all the way through the ranks at Celtic. Still keeps in contact with KT and says there’s no way he’ll want to leave. Of course things can change when theres £60000 a week getting thrown at you but I must say I don’t see him going until we do 10 unless the club force it. Think he’s getting a bit of assumptious stick on here. Rodgers tends to deal with these things oddly in my eyes. He said basically the same about Dembele and he stayed.

He could have left any year in between, as folk keep saying on here, contracts are worthless. If Scott Brown wanted to go to England he would have been long gone by now and earning much more for it.

Not to the big astronomical offers he wouldn’t. He’s spoken about the possibilities of England and he knocked it back.

I reckon if he was the next big thing today he’s make the move. Wages differential just far too much.

The OP mentioned KT watching players leaving quadrupling thier wages, I imagine Broonie could have done similar, fees weren`t mentioned.

A lot of posters really haven't adjusted to the new reality. The days of the one-club Celtic legend effectively ended when Sky signed its first £bn deal with the EPL. When Danny McGrain and Paul McStay were idols, they were earning a few multiples of what skilled workers were earning. Now a Scottish professional footballer can go from earning £750k a year to earning £3m/£4m a year for five years by signing a piece of paper. Anybody who thinks Danny or Paul wouldn't have done the same is dreaming. It's sad but there it is. KT can set his family up for generations if he gets good advice. I hope he waits a year or two but I won't be slagging him off if he doesn't want to chance missing out.

Or he could stay at Celtic win trophies earn 15 or 20K a week, retire and his family would still be fine.
