This is very high risk from Rodgers and PL.

Incredibly risky.
Lawwell has gambled every year on CL qualification. It would be absolutely no surprise from that point of view.

We've lost as many of these expensive gambles as we've won.

Penny wise, pounds foolish, or some other shampoo phrase.

I'm fine enough losing either to be honest genuinely.

Some others though. Wooft, it's gonna be amazing to see how Celtic try quell this fire.

People will go ape effing shampoo.

I’d not be that upset, think it could make us a more balanced team.
We could do a hell of a lot with £25 million+. In theory at least.

This seems to be more to do with the player wanting to leave rather than the club wanting to sell.

Not sure how it’s very high risk from the club. If a player wants to go, then the club’s job is to get as much as we can for him.

Which would perhaps explain Rodgers’ comments. Basically inviting a bidding war?

Lets not beat about the bush here..

Do certain people on here know that Kieran has asked to go?. . . .If the answer is no, they are doing a lot more harm than good to this situation by insinuating he has.

Fair enough if that's the case. If so, it seems different to the Dembele situation.

If he wants to go, get it done quickly and get replacements in as soon as possible.

EVERTON are set to step up their interest in Kieran Tierney and make a bid for the Celtic star.

SunSport understands Goodison chiefs are planning a £25million bid for the Scotland defender.

New Everton boss Marco Silva flew back into England at the weekend, with players reporting for pre-season this morning.

Silva is now ready to crank up his summer squad rebuilding, with Tierney, his top target.

Celtic don’t want to sell Tierney, 21, and are unlikely to jump at the first offer from down south.

But boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted the Hoops would find it difficult to turn down an ‘astronomical fee’.

Silva and new director of football Marcel Brands quickly identified left-back as a priority area to strengthen.

Leighton Baines is now 33, and Everton want a long-term replacement.

Celtic are now braced for a bid, and it would lead to a huge decision for Tierney, who would land wages of £60,000-a- week at Goodison.

The Hoops face Sparta Prague in a friendly tomorrow, and Rodgers insists Tierney will feature.

Meanwhile, Celts remain in talks with ex-Hull City defender Moses Odubajo.

Right-back Odubajo, 24, is now a free agent and Rodgers is weighing up a deal for him.

Couple of other things that might/might not be factors:

- maybe he doesn’t fancy playing in a back three
- seeing Andy Robertson playing in the CL final

he better get used to it for scotland.
it should be enough to put him off playing for everton then.

What do you think, reading between the lines of certain people's posts, such as "It's not them" when PL and/or BR were taking flak?

Tierney will simply break his contract by mutual agreement with the club. Just like Armstrong did last week.
Whit?
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘whit’.

Armstrong was under contract to Celtic. Last week both Celtic agreed to rip up the contract in return for compensation from Southampton.

If Tierney goes anywhere it will be because both he and the club have mutually agreed to terminate his celtic contract. Simples!

If he goes good luck to him but i am not listening to 10 years of how he's still celtic daft and all that nonsense.. you don't get to take the money AND play the uber fan.

nothing wrong with taking the money; its a short career but KT will need to deal with the fact he won't be seen as a all time great or be Celtic captain, he can't have his cake and eat it (which he could have if he was here for 10 then went that summer like BR will)

If its Man United or Spurs then i see the attraction, if its likes of Everton simply put the boy, his agent and anyone else advising him are halfwits.

you mean we agreed a fee with them? jesus what a convoluted way of saying what the transfer market has been for 60 years.

Naw. Terminating a contract is one thing, transferring a player's registration is another.

This

All that badge-kissing to then go jump ship at the first no-mark team to wave a bit of cash at him, would certainly leave me scunnered

Provided they’re actually any good.
They don't even have to be that good. A result of the craziest transfer market in the world.

Read an article about Jack Rodwell and Sunderland this morning. It costs Sunderland £299,000 for every appearance :ffs:
Was this deal signed off by Sunderland CEO Martin Bain?
