Named by UEFA as one of their '50 for the Future':

https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2528631.html
For the future? He's here and effing now.
Apparently Everton in 25m bid.

Kieran Tierney “I’ve just signed a six-year deal, so if that doesn’t say long-term, I don’t know what does.”

Brendan Rodgers on Kieran Tierney:

“It will be down to the club in the end. If an astronomical fee comes in for a player and he has wages to match that, the transfer window can dictate he may have to go.”

Everton. :coffee:
FFS.
Can shove that Tory patter up his arse, double treble or no.

Everton. Hahahahaha!

For the love of Christ! He wouldn't leave us to go to Man Utd, it's fair to say that I will have a threesome with Scarlett Johansen and Megan Fox before KT knows that Everton is in Liverpool.

More chance of Pope Francis joining the Huns :nono:

When KT does go it will be for far more than £25m and will be straight to an elite level side, not effing Everton.

This summer is like when I have a brilliant season in Football Manager, then I start getting mental bids for all my best players.

Being greedy, I fleece everyone for as much as I can, then end up minted.

However, I wreck my team & can never replace everyone properly & without stuttering the following season.

Please take note, Brendan 👍

Why are people scoffing because it’s Everton? They’re a big club who has a bad season last year - plenty potential.

25 million is a great offer if true. If anyone thinks the board would knock that back, not a chance.

It’ll come down to IF KT wants to go.

Is 25 million a "great offer" in this current climate when English teams are wasting tens of millions on mediocre players? Considering how indespensible KT is to Celtic and the length of his current contract, I would say that's a better deal for a potential buyer rather than ourselves.

Jeezo. Dying media, desperate for Sevco to win something, must try very hard to unnerve and destabilise Celtic and its support.

Keep trying you desperate, tired old hacks. Your now desperate organs aren’t even fit for chips now.

There are actual quotes from Celtics manager.

Not sure how it's media hacks with an ulterior motive to unsettle Celtic as part of a grand plan to benefit the Huns?

I feel Tierney does go at this stage, which I don't think he will, it would be a massive psychological blow on the team and fans

I’m not saying he will go , but there are people with KT’s circle who are telling him he should go .

Ki was on £12k with us and went straight to £35k with Swansea. Virgil has increased his wages by 20 times in the last 5 years .

Neither were Celtic fans , but for just about every player , money is important . It should be important , it’s their career. Easy to say KT is a Celtic fan he’ll never go.

Think about what that means . KT will reject between £15 million and £20 million of EXTRA earnings to stay at Celtic

Would you recommend your son or brother to make that choice ?

If he follows the Virgil path then the sums become astronomical . Virgil has made an extra £40 M by leaving , he’s played in a CL final. If he stays fit and in form , his career earnings would be close to £100 million more than by staying at Celtic.

Thats not just life changing for the player , it’s life changing for his kids , their kids and their kids kids

Do we want KT to stay.......of course, but who in their right mind would dismiss that opportunity

He's already a millionaire at the age of 20. Scott Brown will manage to do just fine by his kids and their kids on the substantial money he earned over 10 years with us, probably 13 by the end of it.

VVD is probably a good example because aside from being a quality footballer he's also recognised as being a bit of a mercenary (while all footballers are professionals there are some for whom it's all about the money).

Tierney can make himself a legend at the club he loves or he can make himself rich(er) battling for scraps at Everton. Traditionally a big club or not, they're not going to win a league, probably won't qualify for Europe, certainly not the CL, and no team is going to worry in the slightest if they draw them in the cup.

Everything Tierney says and does would suggest he knows what he's got at Celtic, on and off the park. As for wages, if I work the rest of my life, I'll probably still earn less than Tierney does in a year at Celtic. So he's doing just fine I'd say.

I get Brendan's argument about John Kennedy and he also knows what it's like to be robbed of a football career, so I can see why that would shape his views.

However, we're cash rich beyond anything we've ever known. 25M is absolute chickenfeed to teams who earn free TV money by the bucketload, making Walter White look skint.

If astronomical means anything in this situation it means getting close to what Liverpool paid for VVD, not what Huddersfield or Stoke or whoever pay for a Championship nomark.

Until Tierney is beating down the door looking for a move, bids like this should be pissed on from a great height.

And, again, if the player doesn't want to leave but the agent is pressuring him - for their percentage rather than his benefit - then get the carrots fired. Nothing worse than some Tory carrot banging on about money every time you talk to them
