Firstly do we have an historically massive game this week or something?

Secondly, is there a remote possibility that Motherwell players may be being scouted also?
firstly yes

secondly probably not as they are all honking.

Apparently Atletico are interested in picking up the boy Curtis Main to replace Griezmann.

He’s a big dirty bastard of a boy so he’d probably be a fan favourite over there.

People constantly underestimate how big a fan KT is. 1 game away from making more history and 3 seasons away from the biggest consecutive league winning run in Scottish football history, "aye but Atletico get to CL Finals", eff them, no way will KT walk away before the ten.

He's 20, plenty of time to go abroad if he wishes but it won't be to the 1st big club to show interest. Apparently some people actually like playing for Celtic.
He may be only 20 but he needs to look out for himself as it's a short life in football. Who knows what damage he could sustain in his next game?

That said, he certainly has youth on his side in terms of his ability to develop and to command a big transfer leading to big wages. For what it's worth I personally feel he will be with the club for the next season or two at least. I think a lot of players talk about it being as much about winning honours as about making money. To date he has league titles, cup medals, the invincible tag and hopefully the double treble. I suspect that one of Brendan's qualities is selling the concept of continuing individual and team goals (targets) to his squad.

Any 20 year old Scottish footballer who gets offered big money from a top European side with the chance to test themselves at the very top level is going to give it serious consideration.
At some point, of course, right now? No chance. Would you move away before the 10 if you were in the same position?
No chance?

I feel that's a naive outlook. He'll be saying no chance to significantly more money than he's ever earned and the opportunity to test himself against Messi, Ronaldo, Bale etc on a regular basis, develop into an elite player plus have the opportunity to win La Liga and the Champion's League. None of which we can offer.

He may want to stay a few more years however I don't he's daft enough to turn it down without at least giving it some thought.

I have no idea how I'd react as I've never experienced anything like that prospect.

People seem to confuse being a Celtic fan (which he obviously is) with being a bit daft.

Obviously he's a massive Celtic supporter - but playing football is his career. If he's offered 60 thousand pound a week to go and play for a massive club competing for the Champions League, then he would be stupid to not at least consider it.

That said, there has always been this speculation about him and as far I know no bids.

Pathetico?
I doubt anything will ever come of this , pure paper talk.
Most if not every story about KT will be complete speculation, I doubt we'll actually have any official bids - just talk.
It's far too early for him to leave Celtic & everyone knows that.
This.

Absolutely no way can I see KT thinking about a move until the 10IAR issue is is resolved.

It works both ways. People constantly over-estimate how much supporting a team impacts a professional footballer’s career.

I think he’ll want to hang around for 10, but if one of the top clubs in the top leagues (and that’s what Atletico currently are) come in offering a huge wage rise, he’d be mental not to consider it.
I just don't think he'll be interested, plenty of time to move to a big team if he wants to. The Spanish press have Griezman away to Barca and they'll struggle to replace him, they're pretty ordinary without him, I just don't see it. Fighting for a CL place with Atletico or the 10 with Celtic is an easy choice for any Celtic fan. He's got another 15 years ahead of him.

Mate he's Celtic through and through and he has a long way to go till he's good enough for one of the big boys, I just don't see it. I'm not being an uber tim but I wouldn't even consider it with the carrot of being part of a 10IAR team ahead of me. After that, there's the captaincy, but I wouldn't blame him for maybe looking for a new challenge then.

I see your point but the BBC have reported it too. Brian McLaughlan as opposed to Chris McLaughlin and Kenny MacIntyre.

You see this is something I can`t quite get my head around regarding football fans as a whole. Call me Mr. Grumpy if you wish, but players like Tierney and most of our first team squad make more in two years than myself and most ordinary hard working human beings do in a lifetime, so this argument about short careers always pisses me off! Yes, in the lower leagues fair enough, but any player with a half decent side, moving on through their careers to other half decent sides can probably earn upwards of £4 to £5 million in less than ten years. So, I never feel sympathy for them about short careers. Give me a break, we over glorify them just like all sportsmen, ok they make us have joyful moments in life and it is great to watch people play a sport very well and entertain, but they are living the dream, just how many of us get to earn a living doing something we love and being paid handsomely for it? Sorry to rant...but hey ho! He will stay with Celtic for at least three more years, as someone said, some players actually like playing for Celtic!

I didn't mean short careers in terms of "poor guys they never make any money." I meant it in the sense that if they have talent, then like it or not they can earn a fair wedge. We can argue all day about the relative pay scales of footballers versus for example, nurses but this is the world we inhabit.

The trouble for a footballer is that an injury can end a career in a split second. You might be the greatest talent around but if you get a career ending injury then it's over and there's a lot of years ahead. This is why I said "he needs to look out for himself".

Unless this report is some sort of pre-Cup psy-ops, it wouldn't surprise me if it was true. KT would be crazy not to consider it. We only have to think of what happened to John Kennedy. We'll never know for sure how his career would have turned out, but he was always mentioned as future Celtic and Scotland captain.

With Simon Donnelly hailed as the new Kenny Dalglish I think we can err on the side of caution when stating how amazing John Kennedy would have turned out. No doubt he lost out on a chance to earn high wages as a player for as long as he should've right enough.
