Couldn’t blame him for going there. Massive club and the chance to work under arguably the best defensive coach in word football.

As soon as Simeone leaves there they're spending a decade in mid table. It'd be a regrettable decision.

I don't see how he could knock back the opportunity to move to such a wonderful club.

He won't be going anywhere for the next few years, he may decide a move is right at some point...to the right club, tbut not for a while yet imo. Everything coming from Kieran tells us he's as happy as can be at Celtic, it's really not just about money for him....one of the very few players you can say that about, he's playing for his boyhood club..playing under a fantastic manager with a great coaching team....winning trophies and setting records...and who knows? He could stay at Celtic for his entire career? I'm very confident he'll be going nowhere in the next few seasons...after that? Who knows...time will tell.

Apart from the obvious thing with that club it would actually be the perfect move for him. He'd be great there.

Felipe Luis can't go on forever I suppose, would be a brilliant signing for them but can't see it happening. They can go eff themselves.

Would lose a lot of respect for Kt if he signed for them. What Celtic fan would play for that shower :boik: :boik: :ph43r:
The infamous Celtic v Atletico game was in 1974 was it not? You’re talking about losing respect for KT if he goes there in 2018?

It was a european cup semi final and it was only 44 years ago

The type of move I expect him to make, well after we have 10IAR though

Top European team should be his ambition is he ever leaves, he won’t go chasing the money

A decade in mid table? It's Atletico. There are only two clubs bigger than them in Spain, and the only other one comparable with them are Valencia, who have been in all kinds of trouble for years.

With almost constant access to the Champions League in recent years and a brand new stadium, they are far more likely to bridge some of the gap to the elite than fall into mid table.

Any bid would seriously tempt Tierney, but I'd hope he gave us another year minimum.

That's all well and good but what happens if the club wants to cash in? A crazy money bid would be hard to resist for Lawwell. I want and expect KT to stay but money talks. Imagine if we missed out on the CL next year and there was a rather large financial hole needing filled.

It would be a cracking move for him, if its true.

I hope we reject anything under 25m though.

Pathetico?
I doubt anything will ever come of this , pure paper talk.
Most if not every story about KT will be complete speculation, I doubt we'll actually have any official bids - just talk.
It's far too early for him to leave Celtic & everyone knows that.

Solution.

Sign a six year contract with Athletico.

£50 million transfer fee.

Three year loan back agreement so he’s here for the ten.

Sorted.

Scott Brown was only a couple of years older than Tierney when he signed. He's been happy to spend the rest of his career with us, become captain and chief bam up merchant of the huns.

I don't know much about his finances, but I'd wager he'll we well fixed for the rest of his life if he's been halfway sensible.

And he takes a leaf out of Jock Stein's book, who said that Celtic wasn't his first love but it was certainly his last.

Tierney is a dyed in the wool Tim. If I was him, I'd be thinking, if it's good enough for Scott Brown when why not me?

I just don't see as much of an attraction with other clubs mooted to be honest. He's a pro and I'm sure he'd give it everything but for a guy who is steeped in the club, I doubt he'd get the same feeling playing in Spain or whatever. It's not always about money, as we've seen before. For some it is, but not for everyone.

If he did go, good luck to him. I'm sure he'll do fantastically well. I'd expect him to be here for another few years at least though.
It's not just about the money though, but that's obviously better - who wouldn't want more money?
It's about the quality of players around him & the level of competition , both of which can add a huge amount to his enjoyment & build his career.
Getting the shampoo kicked out you & being better than everyone of your defensive partners might not be the best place for a 20 year old.
I'm sure he'd like to work with players who are better & that he could learn something from?

I'd much rather he stay & Celtic sign 2 players for the defence who KT & Ajer can learn from & thrive alongside.
If KT & Ajer continue to be our best defenders at 20 years old, then we can't argue when they want to leave for better things - get the finger out Celtic.
Ajer & KT are on long deals, they see their immediate future with Celtic, I just don't want to take that for granted

Long summer ....
It will be a lot more than a long summer tbf - This will roll on until the day he finally leaves which unless he gets offered a real genuine Big Gun offer* won't be until we have God willing achieved the 10.

*Kieran in reality is still a fair bit away from that level imo and I know people will fire up Robertson as a case in point to counter that opinion but that is my take on where Kieran is at at this stage of his career.
