Not seen the goal since yesterday but Jamsie and Henry I think both
had a chance to tackle the winger who then simply put the ball
through the middle of them to set up the goal ,also Biton stepped away from
the scorer an Teirney was late getting back a defence shambles more
than blaming a single player.
I wouldn't bother. He described Tierney as being woeful. You can't reason with hyperbole like that
You never think he does anything wrong, can’t reason with that. The defence was generally poor for the goal but Tierney in particular was all over the place for it.

He was woeful yesterday.

Woeful yesterday. At fault for the goal and lacked composure on the ball.
Admittedly I've only seen their goal once. But Tierney at Fault?
Kouassi and Bitton much more at fault. Kouassi stands off for a good few seconds and doesn't prevent the cross. Bitton then for some reason decjdes to step up a yard and ball gets played right in the gap he leaves.

Tierney had been caught up the park but that was more down to us losing he ball if I remember right.
Correct a collective shambles of a goal to lose albeit a well picked out pass but Jones should never have got to the position he did and yes Tierney was late back but really that was the left cb position to cover.

Tierney was as bad as the rest yesterday but had started off well getting forward - The enforced substitutions with him going back to a defensive position changed things.

I doubt we would have lost with Boyata and Ajer there as they knew Bitton is hopeless if you get in behind him and played on that.

Kouassi & Bitton were more at fault.

And Clancy.

Largely because he is not and never will be a centre-half. I wish that we would buy and play players in their correct position. Too many square pegs in round holes.

KT was bad but nowhere near the worst yesterday and the goal wasn't his fault.

He needs to get better when he's on the ball. Far too predictable. It's actually painful to watch at times when he turns back and plays it into the centre halves.

Didn't think he was at fault for the goal yesterday though.

See this pish, it's getting right on ma nipple ends.

If players are going forward, as Tierney is often doing, and see no option - they will look, judge the possibilities of the perceived pass and calculate the odds of it getting to its intended recipient. If the odds are too long, they'll stop and play a safer pass. If they didn't do this the manager would have them off the pitch in minutes, COS THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE effING TOLD TO DO!

I am pretty sure that is the plan. Bitton is probably 5th choice to play CB.

Not sure if this affects younger players as badly but it's a lot of games.

That would be fine if he actually looks for the pass forward before going back but the majority of the time on Saturday he was getting the ball and returning it almost instantly to the player behind him despite space in front.

I think he has the potential to be a great player but he's been poor this season.

Similar to Sinclair (but nowhere near as bad), he doesn't seem to be as bold in attacking players at the moment and does often just look inside/back towards the centre halves for a simple pass but then runs back the way in the direction of the player he's just passed to.

Watch top quality full backs and they will give and go, constantly.
