What young centre halves? By all accounts even our own youth level teams are bereft of Scottish players of any quality in those positions.

I am with you in that I want to see KT play in his best position and wouldn't mind Robertson pushing further up but there really seems to be no one on the radar right now. Maybe that young hun?
I don't know, the boy that was at Partick, the Boy Souttar, Hunboy . Let them know they will be will be there regardless of results for a few year. There's no point in throwing Mulgrew/Berra/ Hanley in. They are not getting any better, no chance of growing or developing. They are hopeless.

Robertson isn't even that good a left back. He's keech defensively. Best to have a potentially really potent left side, get two players into their best positions than having none of them in their best positions. It's Strachanesque mentalism.

Robertson's best position is left back. So is Tierney's. Tierney is so good, he can play centre back better than any other centre back in the country. Robertson is not(!) a left winger. Last night we played Tierney left centre back, Robertson left back, and Christie Left midfield. Would you honestly leave one of those three out, to fit Mulgrew or Berra into that team or any of the three you mentioned at centre back?

The centre backs you mention are not at the standard that Tierney is at as a centre back at this time. Yes we lose a wee bit at left back, as Tierney is clearly better than Robertson, but we gain so much more at centre back.

Agree. Though I don't think Christie is any use on the left tbh. He should be more central.

The problem Scotland have with playing Tierney at centre half is that when he comes up against a physically powerful player I think he might be found wanting.

At left back he could play with any top EPL side, and that's where he should be playing for Scotland.

Eyebrows would be raised if KT was played in central defense in the hoops

Scotland should play him in position & seek out the other players that are best in their position !!!

Last night was an experimental selection and you're asking the players called up to experiment in their position??
I don't agree with that ... in internationals, play players in their positions (unless a player's injured/sent off & expelled from the later stages or a tourny, etc) ... surely an easy enough thing to do.

Danny McGrain had to switch his natural position for years when playing for Scotland to accommodate a R*ng*rs Legend... SJ !!!
Surely there must have been somebody better than aul Sandy in the first place - unless the handshakes were at work even then to keep them important?

Don't get me started on 4 card Jack... :cuckoo: :suspect: :cuckoo:

Danny Kelly hosting Talksport Drive this evening:

"Kieran Tierney is set to become the next great British footballer. He captained Scotland last night, aged 20, at centre half but he is a fullback who combines the attacking flair of Gareth Bale with the defensive chutzpah of Stuart Pearce"

KT is the first actual ‘wonderkid’ produced in this country in decades.

Even more of a rarity is his attitude of your typical Scottish youngster.

He should be played at LB for Scotland & other solutions should be found at CB & RB.

My worry is always the treatment he will get - see that potentially career ending tackle, the broken jaw, etc, last season.

In other countries, he’d be appreciated, but he’s a target here.
Reminds me of what happened to John Kennedy (albeit in an international match).
I think it's safe to say, if any player in Scotland INTENTIONALLY caused Kieran serious injury then they would need to emigrate.
A reptile of a hun McVie put Brian McLaughlin out of the game intentionally - He carried on being complete and utter thug in Scottish Football long after that.

Brian McLaughlin was the best youngster at Celtic we have lost to injury in my lifetime imo.
