His best European game for us.

By a distance.

That game and experience will have done him the world of good at this level.

An absolutely super player. Whether it's defending or going forward, the boy has it all.

He answered the only doubt I've had about him - could he play at CL level this early in his career. Yes he could! :worthy:

Amazing that we almost expect this from him. So young yet nothing fazes the kid. By the time he reaches his mid 20s he is going to be captain and world class

Top marks in attack and he was as reliable as anyone in defence. His best European performance and hopefully the marker has been set for his future ones.

Our best player by a mile. Forget Dembele and all the rest Tierney is a effing rock.

The recovery in the second half when he lost his man but just caught up and shrugged him back off the ball was immense.

One of the leaders in this team. He'd run through a brick wall for the club.

Thought he had a powerful game last night.

Not a time for nitpicking...but he has a habit of receiving the ball from the left centre back with a kind of closed body shape and so not in a position to take it on up the flank. He often ends up passing it immediately back inside to Boyata or whoever when I think he has space and/or options to drive forward himself or play a forward pass if he opened up his body more.

Then I listened to the manager post match and it could be a case of him just picking his moments and being happy to retain possession at times. Plus there must be a need to conserve energy on occasion as it's physically impossible to burst up and down the wing all game.

It's just a little thing though because when he gets bombing onto the ball in the final third then he's got a very good strike rate of picking out someone in the box with a low cross or cut back.
