Man United rumours not going away. Kid could have his pick of clubs. Best player we've developed in last 30 years. £15million quoted.

Aye right!

If we are going to sell any player maybe we should loan him to a Portugese club. Any player bought from there seem to go a fortune to the big leagues. KT would fetch £50M if he played there.

If it's fifteen million, that's the upfront price backloaded with heavy appearance and caps incentives. He's a better player than Shaw ever was or ever will be and that glorified hairdresser went for about thirty mill.

Realistically how long do people see KT staying at Celtic for? I'm not naive enough to think that anybody wouldn't have their head turned by Mourinho and Man United and a 80k a week contract even someone who's as clearly in love with Celtic as Tierney is.

My heart says he's here for his whole career and will hold the European Cup aloft in his 5th year as captain but my head is telling me that he'll be here for the 10 and some latter stages of Europe before leaving for big money. Even then my head is also gnawing away focussing on that first sentence...

It's a massive club, but it isn't Celtic.

Sometimes in life people are happy where they are. Man Utd might be able to offer him money and the chance to play against Stoke, Brighton, Burnley, Leicester, Crystal Palace, Watford, Swansea, Huddersfield and the likes, but there's one thing they can't offer and that's the chance to become a Celtic legend.

Looking from the outside, Tierney seems driven to write his name alongside Celtic greats and that's it. He wouldn't have ran through the streets with a broken jaw for Man Utd or anyone else, I'm sure of that.

Seen on Twitter that he's been through in Coatbridge doing some UFC training with Paul Craig. Stockley should probably demand a transfer to some Vanarama League club whilst he has the chance.

GORDON STRACHAN can call off the search.

Brendan Rodgers has told him that Kieran Tierney can be the answer to his centre-half problem.

The Scotland boss is crying out for a top quality stopper he can rely on.

And Rodgers believes KT could play in that position at international level.

The Celtic youngster filled in there against Slavia Prague on Tuesday night and looked good.

Asked if Tierney could play in central defence for Scotland, Rodgers said: “International football? Yes, for sure. Especially if you play with a three, he can play on the outside of a back three, no problem.

“He can sit in there and serve, he wants the ball, he can play, he is quick.

“So he is very multi-functional, he has good ideas and he is gaining confidence in passing and playing — he is a big talent.

“He loves it. What helps him is that he can score goals from that area as well.

“He can step in centrally and get his shot off. Sometimes when he is wide he is going down the line in the system. Last year he scored four goals and had 12 assists.

“He’s a young boy I’d like to develop to play different positions.

“I had Raheem Sterling and played him top of a diamond. I played him left side, played him as a striker.

“It gives them great value and confidence in their game.

“They see the game from a different viewpoint and when you look at Kieran, rather than being the stiff left-back who gets rid of the ball, he is now cultured, can pass it and is quick in the recovery.

“He can leap because he has good power. In international football and European football you don’t need to be six foot three to play centre-half.

“As long as you have got a couple of guys that are dominant in the air he can step in and play and I thought he was excellent against Slavia Prague.”

Tierney is constantly being linked with big clubs in England but Rodgers reckons the lifelong Celtic fan couldn’t be happier where he is.

He added: “Well, he is Celtic-daft — he is in a real happy place. He is clever, Kieran, he knows he is still learning he game.

“But his passion is Celtic. It’s great to see, he comes in with a smile, he comes in to learn. He loves playing for Celtic.

“Celtic is his life and has been his life since he was a child. He has that intensity and you see it and he’s a great representation of the supporters.

“He signed a five-year deal last year, he is developing, he is playing week in and week out and is winning.

“He is an outstanding talent, but still growing, still improving and that’s what he wants. We have worked on him playing the left side of a diamond because when he was a young player he was a midfielder.

“He played wide, played inside then obviously went to left-back.

“So he has brilliant talent — his aggression, his will to win is good.

“He is getting better under pressure. On Tuesday night there were a couple of times when he could just have got rid of it.

“Instead he had composure and made the pass. To play the team out of pressure.

“You need to have that when you are playing for a big club and you need to have it internationally. He is improving all the time in that aspect.”
