Stockley is an arsehole and what he did was deliberate. He tried to be fly about it by not throwing an elbow but it's obvious from the unnatural way he turned that he was trying to generate as much force as possible. I don't think McInnes would have given him an instruction to do that though. The last thing he'd want is to be down to 10 so I imagine that he's telling the truth when he says he had been warned about his elbows beforehand.

And what sort of first name is 'Jayden', anyway? A carrot's name, that's what. Carrot :carrot:

It's hard to believe that professional footballers and ex pros were queueing up to dismiss that as accidental. They should be ashamed of themselves . until we eradicate this kind of thuggery from the Scottish game, we will continue to be a footballing backwater. That Stockley should get a lengthy ban , but I won't be holding my breath. Meanwhile, Bobby Madden was ill last year, so its all ok.
Should get a ban for good. Reading about the damage fashanu did to Gary Mabbutt and it's clear this carrot has a full career ahead of him smashing people's faces to smithereens. Accidents happen in football but not so many involving the same player. He could end up doing even worse damage to someone if he's not reined in.

carrot looks as if he'd be better suited marching across the Sudetanland. Expect he'll emerge as a top target for the zombies.

I don't think Stokley intended to break KTs jaw, I do think however he intended to really clatter him with the intention of letting him know he was in a game. Junior football level.
He's a clumsy useless big lump. He's got form for these incidents and refs need to be aware of the big carrot.

Agree with this. It's difficult for them to claim it was an accident when his own manager admitted tonwarnong him about it beforehand.

The calls for someone to seriously injure Stockdale were presumably alcohol-induced silliness.

Makes it 10 times worse if that's the damage he can inflict by just looking to hand out a warning.
Centimetres above and it would have been an eye socket and perhaps permanent damage to KTs sight. CMs below on the Adam's apple and...well...

Should be handed a ban for the incident and another longer one for consistent dangerous play.

Dreadful challenge. Knew exactly what he was doing.

Not watched any tv analysis of it yet, so unsure what the pundits made of it.

Still ... At least he didn't spit on anyone. That's the worst thing a footballer can do....

Are people actually trying to suggest it wasn't intentional?
If he didn't have the track record of already elbowing people this season then yeah you could probably give him the benefit of the doubt. It's not 100% obviously intentional because the arm is straight at his side rather than raised up to face height and and swung with his arm folded in. It does look like hes potentially just turning and his arm flails out.

However he has lost any right to benefit of the doubt due to previous elbowings so yeah he's done it deliberately.
This utter shampooe has to stop

I've had a broken jaw and let me tell you, it isn't easy to break a jaw.. Turning around and bumping someone doesn't break their jaw ffs

It's was 100% intentional, it wasn't premeditated imo though. He seemed to turn them realise kt was there and then there's an extra 'swing' in his direction. He's a thug taking an opportunity to do damage in my eyes

Fully expect a media campaign to allow it to pass though, as BBC already had their story straight at halftime. Lost all respect for Stubbs with his view on it too

Did Sky say anything about it?
From the get-go Andy Walker was at pains to explain it was accidental and that Stockely was turning his whole body rather than swinging his elbow into KT's face.

Even when the incident was being replayed showing this wasn't the case Walker talked over the footage as if this confirmed it was accidental.

In short, the mealy mouthed pumpkin was spouting shampooe as usual.

Was the elbow deliberate?

I know the guy is an utter cart horse who uses his elbows but been told by a few that it didn't look malicious.

Not seen it back myself.
It was deliberate imo.

When you watch it, you see Stokley do a pirouette from right to left at full speed, this gave him the momentum to really hit KT hard, he didn't just turn, he spun round in a unnatural way.

McInnes doth protest too much, that and not one mention of an apology from Stockley, not that I Have seen, says it all.

He meant it - the elbow in the face anyway, probably not the actual damage he caused. I hope he wakes up this morning and is really proud of what he did and also of his loser's medal. That's what he is, a talentless loser.
Interesting to note that the incident came directly from the result of Aberdeen getting a throw in after Reynold's blatant shove on Griffiths and the ball bounced out after hitting Griffiths when he was on the deck.
McCann suggesting Brown did it to Miller earlier in the season - I must have missed that, Kenny Miller losing teeth with at least one lodged in his palate and a broken jaw into the bargain ?

I've said it before on here, but I fear that the treatment handed out to Kierney (over a season and not just a cup final) will at some point finish his career.

He is the target for any thug with a fraction of his talent, opposition coaches know he his integral to the way Celtic play.

The thought occurred to me yesterday that - twice now he's done that to the same player. Is he being sent out on to the field with some kind of instruction to do that?

There is no question re intent.

How many times is that for him now?

The only reason this may get any coverage is due to KT missing the England game.

Now, what sort of manager would do that?

He'd have to be the sort of carrot who'd been a player like that himself. A real ratbag. The sort of carrot who'd f*ck another guy's wife...
