I think he proves that our current strategy of buying the "best" young Scottish players is flawed.
Just wait until January when he's playing with Allan and Christie alongside him... :ph43r:

If Brown remains injured, would I be right in thinking that an Armstrong/Rogic central midfield is in the offing for the next EL tie? That could be 'interesting'.

Much in the way of previous legends Bobo Balde (Strachan era) and Derek Riordan, the only winners tonight were Ambrose and Mulgrew.

Balde was prone to the odd mad error but for the most part was a reliable defender.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep

He was, but he became a far better player the longer he was out the team. As did Riordan.

There is a big difference between the two. Balde played a big role in a very, very successful side over consecutive seasons, Derk didn't. It's an unfair comparison.

They were both the best examples I could think of for players being better the longer they were out the team.

It's not exclusive to players, both Fergus McCann and WGS are better thought of now they're no longer at the club.

This season he's looked every bit an above-average Dundee United player, but below what should be expected of a Celtic midfielder.

Oh how I miss Alan Thompson's heyday on the left hand side :(

Not quick enough to play out on the wing. Go back to basics. Two fast wingers.

He's a good player though. Should be playing centrally ahead of Rogic/Commons and Johansen (on current form).

Who would have thought 3 above average Dundee Utd players would struggle to make an impact at Celtic?

He was the only one of the Dundee United 3 I was in favour of us signing.

I was wrong; none of them were good enough for Celtic.

Buying players from a team you regularly humiliate makes little or no sense to me.

Simply put, not good enough. Nice hair though but we need more than a Vidal Sasson model.

He just isn't good enough.

As a winger - he has no pace, scoring ability and limited crossing ability.

As a central midfielder - defensively lazy, shies out of challenges and receiving the ball, doesn't impose himself at all.

In the number 10 role as some have suggested -

Its nothing to do with formations or how we play, he's not good enough for Celtic.
