Good week for Stuart.

Looked lost for much of last season but did well at Hampden and turned in a decent performance last night - including the vital goal of the game.

Looks stronger and more confident now.

Not so sure about stronger...he seemed to get brushed aside by the Ross County carthorses players at set pieces last night.

But he does look like a player again which is great. No idea why he lost confidence and former so dramatically last season .
Should maybe have said competitive rather than stronger.

Made one telling challenge last night when our back line were exposed - almost won the ball but did what he had to do - gave away a free kick but stopped the attack.

I don't think the desire would have been there last season - much like we have seen with Forrest.

Seems to be playing with the kind of confidence that marked his early months. Can't help but think developing a wee mean streak wouldn't do him any harm; he seems such a gentle, mild mannered big guy and they're admirable qualities in a human being but not so much in the engine room of a fitbaw team. The boy need some badass about him. Get him on the weights tae: he's got the football brain and skills, supplement that with a Collins-esque torso and some Broony cojones and he'll be A1! :rocker: :boxer:

I'd be really thrilled if he became the player we all hoped he would. Never really seen him as a sitting mid though, I think Rogic's position is his best

He's looked rapid on a couple of occasions in his last 2 appearances. Looks to have found an extra yard of pace.

Very good, apart from his finishing. Work rate was superb, didnīt stop running all day and looked as good as he did when he first signed. The problem is can him and Brown play together? far too many times today there was a big gap between DF and MF and the defenders were forced to play risky passes.

Done well enough, probably enough to keep his place. Slack on the ball though that was the case more often when he moved further forward and Bitton came on.

Been impressive in the last three games.

Got into a few really good positions today, most notably that sitter right at the end of the first half in the six yard box and the one in injury time in a similar position to his goal on Wednesday. Would keep him in for midweek.

Getting on a bit

His willingness to run towards/past the striker gives us something totally different.

He might keep players(Bitton really) who are better on paper out the team, but his energy and running are good for us just now.

He does but in Europe we need a sitting MF, it'll be interesting to see who Rodgers starts in Germany.

On current form, Bitton would be as much use sitting on his arse as sitting in midfield.

He's a good footballer. Some of us always knew this. Looking forward to seeing him develop further under this manager.

Chances aside, as effective as anyone in getting the job done today.

True, I'd play Toure.

Getting noticed in the reserves

Thought he was rather ineffective today. Definitely need to get the finger out and buy a top quality centre mid.

BR again emphasising his best position is in the middle of the park, that he's working hard, and that he's still working on his pressing.

He's coming along very well - would love to see him start to push Bitton.
Push Bitton, and Rogic. If big Tom doesn't score, he barely has an influence on the game, as he inevitably gets subbed after 60/65min.

He's an intelligent lad. His movement brings a lot more to that role than Bitton does.
