Not good enough to be starter in big games but spfl and as a sub is a decent option
People always say this about a player who is recently coming back to form/finding their feet.

These comments are pretty daft imo.

Let's see how much he can improve and praise him for his good performance today, and what is hopefully the start of his comeback, rather immediately putting a cap on how far he can go and being fairly dismissive of his ability.
This.

I rated him at DU but have been critical of him lately. Like most, was puzzled when he came on. He dragged them all over the place. Played very well.

Rogers proved many wrong (myself included) with this substitution. Thought some of the stick he had received was unfair but he had looked low on confidence so far this season. Excellent and delighted that he got a goal.

Definitely think there's a player there. Hopefully his goal lets him kick on.

BR seems to know he suits the number 10 role

Gave him that role today and he did very well

Good to see the lad come on and grab the game by the scruff and make a difference, nicely taken goal too. Brendan seemed to be happy with him in the #10 role as his best position and maybe that's what they have been working on.

Maybe he's not finished at CP after all...

Armstrong is not, and never has been, a left-midfielder.

He came to prominence at United playing in the middle of the park for a reason.

I've been very critical of him whilst hes been playing wide. Drifts out the game and doesn't contribute. The couple of times hes been played in the centre hes looked good. I was happy to take the stick from the CSC today. Well played Armstrong.

Once again Brendan rearranged things to change the game. During the substitution he was talking to Sinclair and telling him to push up and force the hun to defend deeper. what Deila failed to do in the Cup semifinal.

Played well when he came on yesterday. We should play him in that role more often and give Rogic a rest at times.

He did well yesterday.

He has ability, but he's never going to get a game out wide. He needs to be in the middle three, and depending on who we sign to bolster that area of the pitch his options may be limited.

My concern isn't with his ability, it is with his attitude. Whilst not poor, he lacks the assurance and self confidence that all Celtic players need. I actually think that working with a sports psychologist or even hypnotist would sort this out. We've seen it with countless sportspeople who have beans a low ebb and the transformation is incredible.

I sill don't think he'd be a first name on the team sheet but if he can do some work on that, I think that he could be a far more useful member of the squad tan he's so far been.

Brenda Rodgers is getting far more out of players than Delia could; Brown, Armstrong, Forest have all come back to form. I have to wonder if he can get more out of Boyata, Cifti and GMS ? Better man management, Better coaching, Better deployment ?

I think everyone can see that there's a player in there, it's just his mentality. In the past he's hidden and wilted under pressure so hopefully Rodgers can fix that. The sub made the difference too. The hun was beginning to build a bit of momentum and string some passes together due to Rogic being tired and unable to press his area of the field. Armstrong plugged that gap and normal service was resumed. Hopefully his part in the game, especially the goal, is something he can build on.
