Excellent when he came on. His mobility helped us press them better than Rogic who isn't great defensively.

I've always liked him and delighted for him to score against that mob today. I've never doubted his talent and I knew he had enough in his locker ability wise to make it with us. My biggest concern was a lack of mental strength and struggling to cope with the expectations of having to win every week. I think he admitted himself he struggled with it. Hopefully today gives him a massive confidence boost. Both him and Rogic will get game time in that position and will both contribute.

Can't disagree with any of that. He showed up really well today and got himself a nice goal too.

There's definitely a player in there. I was very surprised/concerned that BR brought him on, but by Christ I was proved wrong. Very good showing.

Really helped solidify the midfield today. Think that McKay chance forced Rodgers into getting the midfield shored up and it worked a treat.

If he can play like he did today, then he's an asset. Hopefully that goal gives him the boost he was quite clearly needing.

He has some promise, he gets into some good positions, did well today. Main gripe is when he goes on runs, he can take people on but he seems to run into trouble or pick the wrong option, but there is something to build on, a player is in there.

He looked much sharper and a little quicker. Had he been carrying a knock?

I think he's had back trouble for the last twelve months or so.

I'd like to see him start games in the No10 position and then bring Rogic on last 20 mins as an impact sub.

Did well when he came on. Still not a long-term solution but hopefully that will give him some confidence.

The next few months are crunch time with most weeks having two games between SPL, League Cup, CL and internationals. If Armstrong can be rehabilitated to be the auxiliary No. 10 then we'll benefit very well. The goal can only help his confidence.

Finally played in the position he was signed for: central attacking midfielder.

The boy has something to offer.

What he needs is comfidence.

I wondered what Rodgers was thinking when the sun was made. Glad to see his thinking was excellent

He looked great today. His running was exciting, looked up for it, creative and took his goal really well.
