He's a player, just not with us.

Think he's got a case of the Maloney's where he'll achieve great things while not being a Celtic player but they'll never quite live up to being a Celtic player.
Maloney was excellent in spells for us. Armstrong has never been anywhere near that level.

Never really given the chance through the middle. He is never a winger and Sinclair is the better option.

Stuart Armstrong is the midfield version of Teemu Pukki, you know he's got ability but he just hasn't got the mental strength to deal with the pressure of playing for Celtic.
Sums it up for me and I'd include his 2 pals GMS and Ciftci - none of them seem to have the big club mentality to succeed with us.Shame really as they do have talent but happens at plenty big clubs where players can't handle it but flourish at smaller clubs with less expectations.

I must admit I rated Armstrong at United and was delighted when we signed him so part of me wants us to persevere and see if Brendan can work his magic a la Broony, Forrest and O'Connell so far.

Time will tell but can't see GMS or Ciftci surviving albeit even Ciftci seems to be trying to get on the Brendan Bus with improved attitude and performance since pre-season.As for GMS although currently injured since last season don't think many will forgive him his shocking display against Sevco ( yeah I know the whole team were a disgrace on the day) when he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights and actually hid during the game.Frustrating thing is you look at his performance against Inter in Milan 1st half and there is a player !!!

trying to do something as intense & time consuming as a law degree can't be helping
his Celtic career - looked good when he first came in, not so much now

It's with the OU; having just completed a degree with them while working full time and having 3 kids, it's demanding and time consuming but not an excuse for a professional footballer to be off form for over a year.

He just doesn't seem to have the mentality to play for us.

Like a lot of players who came in and looked good for a while, Deila's coaching ruined him. Unlike most of that squad he hasn't really taken advantage of the fresh start. I don't think he has been particularly bad under the new management but I'm not sure what exactly he is supposed to offer. He just doesn't seem to contribute much, hasn't looked like putting in the work rate and commitment Rodgers demands - he has been given the chance to show it and it seems obvious he was found wanting.

Should do well in the English championship.

Deila's mistake was buying him.

We thumped Utd 6-1, then signed a quarter of their team.
Unsurprisingly they weren't good enough for Celtic.

Hullbound
Wow, that would be great for all parties.
Not for Hull.
Lol, yeah I was thinking that too - but thought I'd try the new nice version of me that I'm trying to cultivate.

Really grew into the game. I don't see a way back for him as a regular but I'd hope this is a turning point and he proves me wrong.

They were getting past rogic, great sub from the manager and Armstrong looked a different player than the wee lost boy. Should have given Collum pelters for the non corner. Could do with not being so bloody nice.

Much like Bitton in Astana he done his job to perfection when he came on. Credit to him and the manager yet again.

Rogic is a class act but there was gaps all over the place before he came on.

Rodgers has turned Forrest around over the course of a few months, and there's no reason not to think he can't do the same with Armstrong. As many have said before, there's a player in there, but it's all about his mentality.
