Should be playing central with Brown - both of them going box to box with a defensive midfielder behind them to protect the back line
The further away Brown is from the oppositions goal the better. Bittons more creative and more of a goal threat.
Bitton doesn't have the legs to go box to box for 90 minutes, and it would take the stylish bit out of his play if he had to do so

I know that Ronny most likely wouldn't go 442 diamond, but his would suit Armstrong

Gordon
Lustig-Jozo-Erik-Tierney
new defensive midfielder
Armstrong-Brown
Bitton
Griffiths-BigZ
Didn't mean I see Bitton as a box to box player, just that he's more effective further forward than Brown

I said at the start of the season that because our CB's are nowhere near as good as last year's at going forward that one of the 2 MF's needs to do more in the final 3rd. Bitton is imo.

hauled off at halftime for the 2nd time in 4 appearances

his inclusion tonight was baffling and proof that ronny has no clue about picking his team and is just throwing enough muck at the wall hoping for it to stick

Zero confidence. Could barely even control the ball never mind do anything productive with it

Should be nowhere near the team in this form. Looks totally bereft of touch or any kind of confidence.

A good manager would get the best out of him, I think there's a good player there.

Let's see what another manager can do with him

No idea why he starts a player who clearly hasn't got it and won't produce it.

Its effing weird.

This. Seriously out of form so dropped for one game then brought straight back in? Another crazy decision from the manager.

Someone at the game told me he's our top assist man, I can't believe that, i can only think of two from open play

According to Transfermarkt Commons is top with 12 then Johansen and Griffiths on 7. Armstrong on 6 with GMS and Bitton.

I've got...

Commons - 13
Armstrong - 7
Griffiths - 7
Johansen - 7
Bitton - 6
Lustig - 6
Mackay-Steven - 6
Rogic - 5

I award them a bit more generously, but clearly with about the same generosity as Transfermarkt. Griffiths with a goal or assist per game ratio up there with Henke. :ph43r:

Agreed. Shouldn't be back into the team until he can control a pass.

He has ability but he also has a glass jaw. As soon as anything goes wrong, he hides and doesn't want to know.

He's also (obviously) never a wide player because he simply has no pace.

The fact that our manager continues to play the boy in a position to which he clearly isn't suited says more about the manager than the player.

Being played out of position so its tough on him but he looks physically and ,probably even more worrying , mentally weak .

Serious question - Why is he still taking free kicks and corners when his delivery has been hopeless all season? he should have been put the bottom of the list about 6 months ago and every game he starts he takes them.

He got a chance in the CM position against Fenerbache and was worse there than on the left. Naturally a number 10 but he's got about 5 other players in front of him in that position.

He's a good player who could be a great player with the right man management. Unfortunately as Deila is fighting for his job he doesn't know his Erse from his elbow and is hoping something clicks into place rather than it done tactically or on merit.

Armstrong needs a break out of the team for his own good and development. He had crises's of confidence at dundee united, its in his make up.

His display at home Vs Inter Milan is what he is capable of and its that we need to harness for playing week in week out.

For me the next two games should see a attacking 3 of

Roberts Allan Christie

we know what commons rogic etc can all do and its not been much.
