Plus, if anyone deserves the blame for that, it was Gordon for standing like a pillock, and Mulgrew for ball watching instead of running with Kane.
Armstrong was completely to blame for that goal. Inexplicably poor composure when all he had to do was get the ball up the park.

Wish him all the best. Most of his Celtic career he under performed. The second half of the invincible season aside when he was incredible, when he was in that type of form he was probably the best midfielder we've had since Petrov. Unfortunately his head was turned last summer and he never looked like he could be arsed, very poor in most European games, looked like a rabbit in the headlight at times.

Southampton are expected to complete the signing of Stuart Armstrong in the next 24 hours – for a fee which we understand to be £7m rising to £8m with add-ons.

The central midfielder had his medical on the south coast yesterday, and would become Mark Hughes’ first signing at St Mary’s

Which will be translated by the DR as a deal ‘around the 4 million pounds mark’

To think there was posters on here happy to punt him for £2 million last year, and that was off the back of his best season for us.

People just wanted him to eff after the pissing about. Tory businessmen running the gaff but, not petty arseholes like us.

Glad he won't be playing in Europe for us any longer. Gives the ball away far too cheaply at that level.

7m is an absolute steal.

Stuart Armstrong signs for Southampton on a four-year deal
Stuart Armstrong signs for Southampton on a four-year deal
By: Newsroom Staff on 26 Jun, 2018 17:31

MIDFIELDER Stuart Armstrong has joined Southampton on a four-year deal after three-and-a-half highly successful and impressive years at Celtic Park. The 26-year-old Scottish internationalist moves to the English Premier League side and will link up with his new team-mates when they resume pre-season training.

Armstrong joined Celtic in February 2015, along with Gary Mackay-Steven, on a transfer deadline day move from Dundee United, and both players scored on their Celtic debuts, netting in a 3-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Firhill.

In helping the Hoops win the league title, he made 17 appearances, and also scored on a memorable night at Paradise as Celtic drew 3-3 with Inter Milan at home in the UEFA Europa League.

The following season he was a regular in the starting XI, making a total of 39 appearances and scoring two goals as the Hoops once again lifted the league title, their second under Ronny Deila.

Armstrong played his part in the Invincibles' treble-winning season under Brendan Rodgers, making 47 appearances and scoring 17 goals, including Celtic’s final goal in the 5-1 demolition derby in what was Brendan Rodgers’ first Glasgow derby against Rangers. Last season he made 41 appearances as the Hoops clinched the Double Treble, scoring five goals.

And if that wasn’t impressive enough, he was the subject of a brilliant fans’ song, which paid tribute to his football ability and his impressive hair style!

In total, Stuart Armstrong made 144 appearances for Celtic, scoring 28 goals. He won four Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups while also helping the Hoops reach the group stages of the UEFA Champions League for the past two seasons and, last year, progressing on to the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League.

Everyone at Celtic would like to thank Stuart for his fantastic contribution to the success the club has enjoyed during his time here, and we want to wish him every success in the future with Southampton.
