Read it when I was about 14. Think it's got a lot to do with how I turned out.

Sad to see him go. Was hampered by injury last season but we shouldn't forget how immense he was in the Invincible campaign. I think he'll end up at a bigger club than Southampton soon enough.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
The 6th best was when he played extremely well in the invincible season so you can see where they got that from.
So you're saying his agent was living in the past.

He was in a stronger bargaining position last year. I'm a bit sad to see him going, but he wasn't a first team starter latterly.

The team needs freshened up a bit, its a good bit of business for all concerned.
No, I'm saying that he only signed a one year extension last close season because his agent valued him at more than the club did.

FB I've no idea if his agent is a lawyer or they're different people, I'm only repeating what I was told.

Happy enough with the money received, good luck to him. About time Southampton signed one of our players for a change.

Good player but will never live down that pass straight to England that effectively knocked Scotland out of World Cup qualifying. Can't keep the head.

Have we finally got one over on Southampton ? Best wishes all the same Stuart but at least admit you went for the money, no harm in that.
No chance. We still owe them big time for taking Jos Hooiveld off our hands.

Oh we had tears at the breakfast table this morning. In years to come the daughter can describe this as her Kenny Dalglish to Liverpool moment...

Yeah if he goes to a Celtic game next time he is up in Glasgow.

Money wise this may well be a good move for Armstrong. And I do absolutely get the spfl boredom factor after playing the same teams so often every season. However football career wise I don't believe he will do well there - certainly not as well as at cp.

I would have preferred to see him sign a long term contract and be a good player for is for the next six or seven years. But as he was set on moving then we have done well to get the money we have. We now to spend it wisely.

Cant see him getting a move to a bigger club than southampton. more likely have a career like arfield/dorrans/snodgrass/mccormack. Plenty cash in the bank like them but at least he has some medals and CL games in the bag.

With hindsight, should have been punted last summer. The year’s contract extension only dragged things out and was ultimately a wasted year for him. For me, Ntcham is the better overall player with far more potential to improve so difficult to see how Armstrong would have got his place back in the team. His goals in 2016/17 ensure he’ll always be considered to have been a successful Celtic player though.

A mediocre fish in the biggest pool up here- be interesting to see how well he does if Southampton are in the relegation zone again next season?
Jeez that’s harsh
Good luck to the lad
We made a few pound and so will he.

Maybe amongst the Tartan Army fuds but I would guess that most Celtic fans didn't give a eff about that

Plus, if anyone deserves the blame for that, it was Gordon for standing like a pillock, and Mulgrew for ball watching instead of running with Kane.

Maybe so, but perhaps it was an indication that he can lose his concentration at a vital point in the game.

Aye, I wanted Scotland to win that game and would have preferred them to get to the World Cup if we didn't have to play half a season in the summer.

Ultimately, it works out much better for Celtic that they're not. So Armstrong did the club a favour there.
