Good business. A good fee and we'll get along just fine without him.

Decent fee for someone in their last year and not really in our 1st eleven.

When he was on form he was great for us but that was too few and far between. Mostly i will remember his inability to keep hold of the ball or pass accurately in the bigger European Games.

Better off the ball than on it, makes very intelligent runs and finds a lot of space in the final 3rd.

Good Luck to him but i think he will struggle in the Premiership, will be in Championship in 18 months.

Thanks for the memories Stu.

Not talked about as much as Rogic's winner but his strike against the sheep to equalise in the cup final two minutes after they scored was so important and a thing of beauty.

Best a luck.
Yip, quite a few of his goals were really important timing wise. Midweek Partick at home last season springs to mind.

Game was heading for a drab 0-0, during the huns phantom title challenge period when he popped up.

Good luck to him, he isn't a Celtic supporter, so just like every other footballer, who enters the club, they see Celtic as a stepping stone to a higher wage, and better career. I have no problem with that.

Genuinely thought it was roughly the 60 minute mark when he scored that belter.

The game was stinking though, no urgency and did look like the sort of drab draw, we seemed to specialise in last season. Felt like an important goal at the time.

If this was last year Id have been gutted off the back of his performances but last year could be a flash in the plan and he may never have as good a season again. Injuries have prevented him this season from matching last seasons performances so Im happy we are receiving such a decent fee for him.

Hopefully its now spent on a replacement.

BBC has it as:

Saints are ready to pay an initial fee of £7m, which could rise further depending on various factors.

Which I know, grain of salt and all that, but I assume it is somewhere in that range (6 to 7 million).

I was also told that during the negotiations for his contract extension last season, his agent had him as being the 6th most important player and yet the club were pitching his wages around the 12 th place.
He was willing to stay but the club only said that if he signed a 3 year deal then they would look at it again at the end of last season. His agent knew that the only way Celtic would negotiate was if he was in the last year of his deal, hence why they only signed a 1 year extension.
They tried to get him to sign another deal but the increase in wages was minimal and they also had interest from two EPL teams and 3 championship teams.
It was a no brainer for him.

Speaking to someone there who knows his agent and was told that Stuart, his agent and Ricky (Sorry can't remember the second name) are on their way down right now to tie up the deal. His words were that he's played 8 years in Scotland playing at the same grounds against the same players and wants to test himself against better players.
Good luck to him.
In the interests of balance, we also played against this lot in his time here.

1.Inter Milan
2.Molde
3.Fenerbahce
4.Ajax
5.Qarabag
6.Malmo
7.Beer Sheva
8.Man City
9.Barcelona
10.Borussia Moenchengladbach
11.Rosenborg
12.Astana
13.PSG
14.Bayern Munich
15.Anderlecht
16.Zenit St Petersburg

Bit more interesting than playing for a draw at Burnley to stay in 16th place, barely crossing the halfway line in Mark Hughes' rigid 4-5-1. His agent would do well to see who the likely candidate is to take over from Hughes when he is inevitably sacked before Christmas. They might not take much of a shine to him.
He could have played against our first 11 in training this season.
Another who thinks he is better than he is.
Will never win another medal and probably struggle to add many Scotland caps as he warms Southampton bench hoping ward-prowse gets injured
