Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
He was tremendous against England at Hampden.
He was dreadful.
Pretty sure everyone apart from Griffiths was poor in that game. From both sides.

He could easily have run his contract down as it's been a certainty for well over a year he was going to a Premiership team. Good luck to the guy, signed an extra year when he didn't have to and got us and Dundee United decent cash. Good luck to him on his next quest.

Ungrateful bassas in here with short memories. Armstrong put in the MotM performance most of you voted for when we completed the invincible treble.

It's interesting that he's chosen to go somewhere in the UK about as far as you can get away from GMS

Did they fall out after the urban cliff-diving thing?

There was obviously a lot more to that episode than was reported. Armstrong hasn't kicked a ball since.

Had a good six month spell in the invincible season. Gettting 7 miilion for him is a great deal with a year left. Hopefully to be reinvested.

7 million or an inconsistent Armstrong?

I like the guy and hope he returns to form for Southampton, but an easy decision.

£3 million on a yacht for a few months for me to sail around would be a better spend of money than on John McGinn.

It's like a bird you go out with who's quite hot but not that smoking and you know it's only a bit of fun but she's always ok with you even if sometimes she feels a little distant and pies your texts. Then she finally says she's met someone else and a bit of you knew this day was coming but although you're not gutted as you've actually got a better lassie on the go you're not delighted either. Plus you get £7million quid somehow, I don't know, this bit of the analogy doesn't work.

Armstrong has been a good player for us. He has improved and over the piece improved the team when he's played. Whats also true is that we need more from our midfield, especially in Europe.

(McGinn isnt that player btw - Id be surprised if in 3 years time he puts the sort of performance in that Armstrong did against England say)
I don't remember Armstrong being particularly good against England, or in any big non sevco games the last couple of years.

Maybe I'm blinded by him pissing his breeks at the end of that game.
He was tremendous against England at Hampden.
Tremendous

There were 22 average AF players on the park that day with one guy who could take a free kick. There was nothing tremendous about that game other than finding my watch I lost celebrating the first goal 5 rows away while celebrating the second.

You’re allowed to tell players “good riddance” when they leave us you know. We don’t need to take the moral high ground. eff him.
