I understand that but I don't really trust any fees reported - our fee for Eddie was reported wrong for example
Reported wrongly by the SMSM but correctly in France - from PSG

The fee quoted by BBC England would have come from Southampton

Do we ever know the real fee until the accounts come out and even then?

Whatever money we get for him should go straight into a deal for Moussa

I believe the fee quoted for Armstrong - £7m plus add-ons - came from the BBC in England

I live down here on south coast and guess what it is being reported as a 7 mil transfer. But hey you are probably right.

I’d be raging if my rivals sold one if their average players for a fee which is greater than the value of my entire squad.

I'm sorry what exactly are you disagreeing with? Seeing as you just jumped in and you have the classic 'bhoy' in the user name I'm wondering what the point is here?

7 million. Ok deal.

No , no , no :comp: he's not worth that.

Eh? I would bite your hand off for £7m. We are not getting that.
Yer right, we’re not getting that. It’s £7m plus add ons, so we’ll more than likely get more.

He’s well worth £7m btw. On his day, he’s a smashing player and English clubs are rolling in it. That type of money is pocket change.

So you trust them. Fair enough. I don't know if I've ever seen a true transfer figure but who knows. If they are paying £7m that is some outlay for a guy going into the last year of his contract when they can get him for nothing in six months. I don't think it's a good move for him I think he should stay here and play really well for a year and then he would have a serious signing on fee for a team.

I'm not a huge fan of McGinn but I don't think we'd be losing much if Armstrong left and he signed.

A bit like not knowing the exact level of debt of RIFC / Sevco ?

He's had a good season. I thought he was really good that year. After that he's been injured. Before that he was hit an miss. Am I misreporting something here?

Sorry - he's worth £7m does that suit you or is anybody disagreeing with you a troll ffs.

Is he on a par with Eddie? Firstly, they’re totally different players so a straight comparison is fairly futile, but aye, as of just now, he’s on a par with Eddie.

When you’ve got the likes of James Maddison going for £22m and average shampooe like McCormack regularly transferring for eight figure sums then I’m confident in saying Armstrong is comfortably worth £7m in the current market. Then you’ve got the fact that Southampton have just bid that for him. So he’s literally worth it.

£7m now is peanuts to a club who could have one foot on the trap door come January.

Good move for all parties at that price.
