Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
His directness and goals. I think we missed the Armstrong of invincibles season last season
I agree with that, but he was a bit player last season and we did ok. I agree also that we’ ll now look at signing McGinn.
Seconded. Playing ahead of Broony & Ntcham would suit McGinn's style

If the ground staff turned in the consistency and overall quality Armstrong has, they would have been out the door.

Glad to see the back of him, the money is a bonus. Failed potential.

Much is Jackie getting of it? If he signed his DU contract under him then he'll probably be onto a few quid.

I liked him as a player, we get a good fee so pretty happy overall.

Didnt do enough in Europe. Missed an absolute sitter against Bayern that would have seen us take the lead :nono:

Great fee we are getting for him. Invest it in two full-backs please Celtic.

Liked Armstrong, played well for us.
Don't think we have a similar midfielder i.e. A runner who goes beyond strikers.
£7 million is good deal, not sure he will cut it in EPL, hope he goes as helps our reputation in the long run.
7 millions far too much for him. Maddison 22 mill. Cairney 20 million turned down. just give us a million. We are not worthy spare me the last yr in his contract shampooe

Would have kept him if he wanted to stay but he didn’t which is maybe why he didn’t play great last season.Buy someone who wants to play for us like mcginn.

Well Stuart, I liked you. All the best down there but you're an intelligent man, Southampton over Celtic? Really?

Happy with this. Didn't want to be here. Heart set on the EPL. On his day he was good, nothing special and very inconsistent. 7m for good hair.

Hope we can invest this properly.

Some great goals, especially the equaliser v the sheep at hampden for the first of our trebles under BR ( more important than great, but my celebration was great )

Just hope he doesn’t talk the Scottish game down , but I have my doubts.

I'm not convinced his heart was in it last season, coupled with injury problems, which means that kind of fee is a very good deal. We have enough cover in midfield so hopefully, this money is used to strengthen the defence.

Great money as he's clearly going at the end of the season.

This is off the back of 1 great season for us too.

Hardly noticed him last season, so his loss is no great hardship .

Been superb value for us & hope he does well.

Not really sure we have a similar type of player in our midfield at the moment to replace him.

Didn’t people say similar when Van Dijk made that move? Three years later he’s playing in a Champions League Final and is the world’s most expensive defender. Armstrong is no Van Dijk, but if he has designs on playing at a higher level than the SPL and believes in his own ability, then it’s far from the worse move he could make. The fact he’s probably doubling or even trebling his wages won’t feel too shabby either.

There's not a chance in effery we're getting 7 million for him.

On top of that it is the worst move for him he'll be gone in the lower leagues in a year or two.

You know how you get a feeling of the guys that actually want to play for us i.e. KT, Leigh Griffiths, Big Rogic etc. and those who don't. I always thought that Armstrong was one of those who never really had the team in his heart and was always looking to move on. Yes, he will get more bucks down there but will he get Champions League football and winning honours every season with some mid table English team?
