Liked Armstrong, played well for us.
Don't think we have a similar midfielder i.e. A runner who goes beyond strikers.
£7 million is good deal, not sure he will cut it in EPL, hope he goes as helps our reputation in the long run.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Should come in handy for them
Surely not? We signed him on a pre-contract and paid a fee to get him earlier?
That was GMS.

As said by many on here excellent 6 months under Brendan however never kicked a ball last season.

Was told Johnny Hayes thought he was off his head to think about going to Southampton or Crystal Palace. According to Johnny the money might be better but nothing beats a CL night at CP or walking on the pitch for the end of season celebrations.
Aye, walking about the pitch once a season makes up for not trebling your wages to £60k.

Good to see 7 million plus add ons if the Beeb is right.

Laughable that a few on here were talking about 2 or 3 million for him.

Good luck to him.
Not laughable at all. Was expected given contract situation.

This is likely the best deal in our history for a player with a year left. Most people amazed at price.

To be fair to Johnny he was offered double his money at Cardiff but chose us.

He’s a good player on his day. Unfortunately he didn’t have as many of those days as he should have. Good luck to him down there.

Well he was a bit daft as he’d have been a much better fit - with few moves left in his career.

It’s natural when a player leaves that you look at their negatives rather than the positives but my overriding memory of him in Champions League is hiding & being out his depth.

He had a wonderful 6 months in the invincible season but that was domestically.

If we were playing in Europe tomorrow I would be starting Ntcham ahead of him. Right time for both parties.

Stuart Armstrong was a good player at Celtic. No doubt about it. He has qualities that will be missed.

However, he does not want to be at Celtic any longer. He wants to move on. That was patently obvious when the short-term contract extension was signed last year.

We will receive a decent fee for Armstrong and invest it in a midfielder who does want to play for Celtic.

:Bye: Stuart.

 New midfielder.

Did quite well overall, although underwhelming for long periods of time.

Not a first team starter anymore and a liability in possession in Europe.

Best of luck to him. Good bit of business for us.

Difficult to know whether he'll be any good down there. He was abysmal in Europe last season but outside of the top 6 or so teams in England, there are a lot of very ordinary players.

Always hate to lose a good player but this has been coming for over a year. Good business for Celtic to move on. As others have said we may lack something in the middle in terms of being able to take players on but I’m confident Ntcham, Rogic, and Brown are better players.

Hopefully Brendan can change the system enough knowing that Roberts and Armstrong are gone and our ability to run at defenders is limited

This.

Started well, went really really shampooe and then had a cracking 4-5 months in the invincible season. His poor performance in Europe was more noticeable than everyone else. £7m is great business for us and we should hopefully be able to reinvest that in a replacement.

His short passing game over 10/15 yards can be awful at times. Has the physical attributes to do well in epl. Also joining a decent well run club.
