Which doesn't happen often.

Should have been punted last summer when price was at peak. If he's going to dick around this summer, he should be punted.
I'm pretty certain he'll be away. Probably to a bottom 10 EPL team, but he'll get plenty more money.
We'll get less though.

I reckon we could get around £6m for him.

Personally think that he has his sights set on somewhere else and I don't blame him at all. Not everyone who comes to Celtic can be a Celtic supporter.
Good luck to him and I hope he does well.

Pity. We are a better sidewith an on form Armstrong.

With hindsight, yes.

Easy to say that now though, at the time very few people on here, wanted him to do anything other than sign the contract on offer.

It wasn't until the contract was signed, did we realise, we were going to be heading down the same path 12 months later.

We will be lucky to get 4m for him now. He will end up at a Fulham, Villa or Brighton, can't see him getting the type of club he probably thinks he is good enough for.

I actually really like him, but its clear he has his heart set on moving on, which is fair enough. I actually think he would suit playing abroad.

I wanted him gone in the summer. He wasn't good enough to be treated the way he was and to sign, effectively, a one year extension after months was, to put it mildly, a effing joke.

I wnated him to stay as did most on here...great news when he did then we all seen it was for 2 fecking years after he signed??? :brickwall: :ponder:

As you rightly point out...value has decreased. Club missed a trick.

Think he prettys much wants to leave and gaffer by recent comments will be quick showing him out after season ends.

Not a huge biggie if he goes, we have showed this season we can cope without him. As rightly pointed out we would have got a good bit more money for him last summer after a cracking season.

More importantly we need to be keeping hold of Rogic.

Brilliant payer for all of 6 months during last season. If he was still playing as well as the second half of last season I'd want us to do everything in our power to keep him. He was poor this season and unless he has a really strong finish then I'd be happy for us to cash in while we can in the summer.

Did you see the article about WBA yesterday? No more money for wages. They are a disaster area. Managed by a fud and about to be relegated.

Will be gutted if he leaves if I'm honest. I know he's not the most popular on here, but there's a player in there. If he goes it would be nice if he went to Germany.

i did yeah. don't know the specifics but to me, it would seem that means that when they go down evans, chadli, rondon, etc all out the door if they can shift them. just get the feeling that Armstrong is the kind of player they would try and go for, again I know they were linked in the past I believe but its only a hunch. would be a comparatively cheap option compared to what theyre used to I feel and his wages wouldn't be anywhere near the aforementioned or others currently in their squad like Kieran gibbs and jay rodriguez. FWIW I like Armstrong, he was great last season, but if hes not committed long term, whatever the reason might be, he of course needs to be sold. as others have said central midfield is a position where we have a lot of players anyway

The reason is he wants to play elsewhere, he won't want to go to a championship side though.

He did.

He still has a lot to offer us, and I hope he stays. I'd guess BR wants him to stay too.

I agree I think he's a good player. As for this seasons form, I don't know how long he played with the hernia I'm guessing quite a while as he didn't seem to have the same drive as last season, I definitely think we missed him and McGregors energy as they look forward all the time and we have definitely gone more sideways for a while.

No decent premiership club will want him

A few shampoo ones might

The decent ones will remember his one contribution at the top level, costing Scotland a win over england with his naivety

West Ham tried to pay £15m for Tom Cairney in January. That's the same Tom Cairney who probably had one of the worst displays of any Scotland player in recent years on Friday night. Completely hopeless, yet apparently the "standard" of a good high end Championship midfield player destined for the Premier League. Even one that has massive flaws in his game and will not take an ounce of responsibility when the going gets tough.

I'm pretty sure Armstrong will be alright. He's actually got a brain, some positional sense and can pass the ball.
