I heard booing at full time. I can't get my head round why anyone would think that was the right answer.
Didn't hear anything at all.

I thought the players got a good reception considering the performance.

Seen Sutton ripped into him today. He is badly off form but there is no doubt some fans have a different perception of him now. That's what happens when you hold out for a new contract - it results in increased expectation and also some degree of resentment. Especially when you only sign up for another year. Not signing a long term contract earlier this year may turn out to be the biggest mistake of Stuart Armstrongs career.

Agreed. I mentioned this earlier in the thread but I think Stu will be surprised by the lack of the offers he gets from teams in down south. His auditions for an EPL gig were the England game at Hampden and the CL group stages. Any scouts who took a look at him in those games won't be beating a path of Lennoxtown this summer. As you, Celtic will be in a strong position if his move doesn't materialise and he needs to renegotiate a contract in a year or so. He seems like a clever guy but I think he's been too cute for his own good here.

Does he have a little sniff of superiority about him?
Just seemed to be strolling around, not tackling, not pressing & not trying.

I'm starting to think he thinks he's doing us a favour & his contract saga doesn't help me think any different.

The other players do seem to take the piss out him a bit, jolly spiffing old chap type slagging.

I don’t think a player goes out & doesn’t try.

I’m also not sure he’s thinking of not getting injured re a move elsewhere.

For me, his confidence has gone again & like several of our players, he’s out of sorts compared to last term.

In a few games this season, particularly in Europe, he's looked like he's never even seen a ball before. Don't care the reason, he just needs to get his head back in it or he will be replaced. Not bothered either way at this point.

Armstrong was brilliant for a lengthy spell last season. Armstrong is pish just now. I do reckon his ideas about moving, getting better money etc have blown his progress. I still think a championship team will take him, but if he'd committed for 3/4 years at Celtic he'd maybe have continued to improve and ended up with a big move to the EPL. He's a cerebral type who wasn't smart enough to factor in his own need to build and consolidate his form, and thus grow the confidence which would have been concomitant to that.

Yep, the truth is we dont know what's going on with him right now. Someone in his family could be terminally ill, he could be dealing with a niggling injury, his bird left him,
(and signed for Aberdeen), he could be effin depressed, we don't know.

Playing like a giant dod of keech though.

Convincing yourself that not only is he out of form, he should be disliked too.

Is almost as if good form = good person, bad form = carrot on here sometimes.

If he's to be sold in January it should be based on the likelihood of him leaving in the near future and therefore getting as much as we can.

Yes his form has been pretty poor this season, culminating in a deserved hooking at half time on Tuesday. He was superb for three quarters of last season, and was for me MOTM in the Cup Final. If he won't extend (and in all probability that is the likely case) then yep, offload him. If its not, then I think we should persevere and see if he can turn around his form.

As for Sutton, his shoot from the hip, dismissive put downs have long since become tiresome. I thought his "look how smart I am" performance before the game last night about Rangers and McInnes was rather cringeworthy.

Now I'm not excusing the team and BR for Tuesday night. It was the first time (Red Imps excepted) where I felt BR had to do better than that, the performance was miles away from being good enough. But its worth remembering Sutton's record as a Celtic player v Anderlecht. 3-1 at home in a great performance. 0-1 away against ten men in a dreadful performance. But perspective isn't Sutton's area of expertise.

I don't need to be a body language expert to know that farting about with your hair, when your supposed to be working your arse off in the Champions League isn't a good thing. :ffs:

Did that really make you laugh out loud? If it did you're easily amused. Most of the time we attribute motives to people when in truth we rarely know what's going on with them.

Armstrong isn't playing well. Maybe it was the dithering on his new contract, maybe he's lost his confidence, maybe there's something else going on. Who knows, but I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest we shouldn't be quick to diagnose things we don't really understand.

You've obviously never watched James Forrest. All the boy does is floof about with his hair. Doesn't mean he's not putting a shift in.

James has stopped farting about with his hair as much now.

Probably started listening to all the coaching advice he was getting from the stands about it...

Anyway, be interesting to see what Brendan does about Armstrong now. Like some others have said no one knows what his problem was, but Brendan will have sussed it out by now & I'm sure he'll deal with it.
