He has obviously chucked it at far his career here is concerned. But he's playing himself out of a decent move. He's gone from being able to look at mid table Prem to looking at top level Championship now.

He stopped listening to BR and doing what made him a good player last season

The transfer window nonsense was blamed on his inexperienced agents who ballsed up the start of the season

He looks as if he's determined to balls up his own future

Cannot be trusted at this level think it's time for him to go

Relegation fodder epl or more likely mid table championship

That Fergus quotes on stars seems bleeding appropriate

 What a fekin thread this is. Go back to page 97 and on and read the raves about Armstrong.
He has now had a few poor games and the so knowledgeable on here want to punt him. :ffs:
He was poor today for sure and somebody pointed out how lethargic he looked. I wondered if he was o.k.
It is a fact that players lose form and opponents some time stop you from playing well. For me today he was poor
but I like him as a player and would hold on to him for now.
His form last season was am exception to the rule. His performance last night was unacceptable and that of a coward imo.

He has zero interest in playing for Celtic. I hope he enjoys mid table mediocrity wherever he ends up

Last seaon he played above himself, this is his true form. Lacks the ability and character to play for us.
Great hair though

Similar to his performance against psg at home. Some of that was covered up by the fact that psg were so good but the lack of effort was the same. It was the wrong decision to start with him but Rodgers can't be blamed for that pish.

His form is nowhere near good enough just now but he certainly hasn't chucked it. The vast majority of the squad haven't got near approaching the form they showed last season as individuals and a team. Have they all chucked it?

Incorrect to single him out. There are a host of players off form at the moment and he’s not alone.

Forget his performance last night. Let's concentrate on the effort he put in. Pathetic from any Celtic player. If james Forrest was doing that he would be getting dogs abuse. But Forrest doesn't have his own song or nice hair does he.

Really disappointing to see him slump back to his pre-Rodgers form after making such progress last year. Will be very surprised if Ntcham doesn’t get a run in the team at his expense now.

Pish!

Chasing back and putting the effort in is eff all to do with 'form'
Running beside someone with no intention of putting a tackle in, or allowing someone to turn and run away from you with the ease he was last night, stinks of something else

Armstrong, as has been said, doesn't seem to have the mental strength to play for Celtic.
I know a Dundee Utd fan, who said when he signed for us, that Armstrong would be here a couple of seasons then off to a high end EPL team as that is the level he seen himself at, and had said as much in private.
Good luck to him. Hopefully we get weighed in with a half decent transfer fee

Armstrong's problem last night wasn't his running or lack of effort it was his pish passing. Has McGregor chucked it? He was dreadful in the 1st half. Sinclair? He was our worst performer. Didn't put anywhere near the shift required. What about Brown, who despite being our best midfielder, got shrugged off the ball on more than one occassion? Last night was dreadful but the utter embarrassing ott reaction from fans with regards the team and individual players displays a lack of awareness of where we are as a club and a feeling of entitlement that is beginning to creep into the support.

I knew very early on in this match when he gave the ball to an Anderlecht player in the first few minutes with a lazy pass that this was not going to be his night, dredful performance.

Just didn't look bothered. Slumped shoulders, not running or following his man. Honestly looked like he was hungover or suddenly unfit. Then when he actually got the ball could not pick a pass.

Ntcham was a huge improvement when he came on.

I wouldn't play him again, seriously.
Be interested to see how Brendan deals with him.
Needs a rocket right up his arse, if he thinks he can get away with that.

So poor last night. If a half decent offer is made for him in January, we should take it.

Entitlement? lack of awareness?
Do one ya floof....

Armstrong dialed it in. So did Sinclair, but this is the Armstrong thread.
Sinclair has bought himself the benefit of the doubt as he has performed well more often than not. Armstrong hasn't, he has been pish for 75% of his time with us
McGregor
Brown

Pish passing? Anyone who has watched him knows he cant pass, even when in form wayward passes are part of his game. His stand out performances focused on his engine and drive, combined with goals. None of that was apparent again last night. He hid when a pass was on. Allowed men to just run past him without as much as even a challenge. Fell on his arse more than once in a pish attempt to pretedn he was interested.

Armstrong has proved how good he can be when can be arsed. He cant now and should have left in the summer.
You related btw? Dragging the other three into a debate about Armstrongs performance is strange

Armstrongs running and effort off the ball last night was a joke.

I guess when so many are willing to compensate for last night's display or explain it away somehow, there still needs to be a release valve for criticism. In recent weeks it has been Gordon, but no chance of that last night really, so Armstrong the go to player for all kinds of over the top stuff.

To be clear, he was very poor last night and rightly hooked. But once again this stuff about him not wanting to be here, or having played his last game, or being away in January, it's massively OTT. He's a source of our problems in these games in that he starts badly and gets worst, and it is a mentality thing that afflicts quite a few of them. It doesn't mean he lacks the ability though.

He had a bad game in a midfield three that should never start games for us in this competition. It's far too physically weak and has little in the way of a defensive mindset. He should really only be used in the forward position. Putting him in with McGregor in tow in these games is not going to get it done. It has to be Brown, Ntcham and one other.
