He hid. He never tried.

Punt in January. That was unacceptable tonight - can’t remember a player not bothering his arse like that in a long time.

Without naming him, Brendan didn’t miss him post match.
Without naming anyone, who picked him?
Fair point, should never have started as he’s repeatedly flopped.
Surely when BR analysis our performances in the CL this season he should've seen that Armstrong is not good enough at this level, looks miles off it and not forgetting that chance against Munich he should've buried :ffs:

The type of character who if he's having a stinker he can't play through it, just gets worse. I've seen Ntcham having a really poor game but his strength of character comes through and he pulls himself up and gets back in the game.

Armstrong was worse than a man down tonight.

Poor Broony was practically looking after the midfield on his own.

Utter dung.

Weak as a kitten and so careless with the ball.

Ntcham produced more quality in the first 3 minutes of the second half than Armstrong gave us in the entire first half.

There was a point in the first 30 minutes of the game tonight where he lost the ball and just gave up chasing back even though the guy with the ball wasn't even sprinting.
There was more than one time that happened.

Was showing a few signs (not many admittedly) that the second half of last season's player was still in there but honest to feck that he was like a pub player out there tonight.

Doesn't look interested.

Doesn't look fit.

Where the feck is the player who used to make runs into the box to get on the end of things?

Brendan got that wrong tonight - Nitcham should have started - He may make misplaced passes occasionally but he was the best player on the park when he got on tonight.

As for Armstrong the good Stuart Armstrong is a very good player tonight's Armstrong needs to take a look at himself that wasn't just a player having a bad game.

Terrible on the ball tonight, and almost as bad off it. Looked devoid of effort and energy and was lucky to see half time.

I would've been gutted if he'd left in the summer; I'm now gutted if he doesn't go at least next summer.

Get him punted in January. His head has been turned and he clearly has a very high opinion of himself. This is his 4th season and barring a very good second half of last season he’s been a really poor signing.

Was appalling, played like he’d literally shat himself.
Wonderfully accurate.

'Yeah we had to take off Stu at half time - he actually followed through after three or four minutes and ended up restricted in his movement due to the temperature and some caking out there. We'll see how he is for the weekend.'

Used to laugh at the whole 'thinks he is better than he is' chat but honestly that about sums Armstrong up right now. Kicked the can down the road with his contract because he thinks he is EPL material. Well he better get his act together because at this juncture he'd be lucky to get a move to the Championship.

That first half performance from him was as inept a display as I can remember in a long long time.
