Imagine getting yer head turned by brighton and hove albion to the extent to you cant perform in the champions league. Total minter. Definition of type of player we should be cashing in on in january, will still get money for him hopefully, doesnt want to be here and too good in scotland (usually) but never gonna be gd enough at this level.

After the best 6-8 months of his career we had the new contract debacle since when, the odd moment apart, he has returned to his previous poor form. Should have been sold in the summer. Deserves to be dropped and if we can find a buyer moved on ASAP.

His level is the SPFL, hasn’t got what it takes to play in Europe.

There was a point in the first 30 minutes of the game tonight where he lost the ball and just gave up chasing back even though the guy with the ball wasn't even sprinting.

Gone back to his usual self. Not the only player in the team not performing to the level we know they can this season.

His problem has always been that his head goes down far too easily.

He'll end up a decent player in the Championship and you'll get people greeting about what bad business it was to get rid of him. He doesn't have the mentality to play for a team with this level of expectation behind it consistently. Hopefully someone will take a punt on him in January and we can reinvest.

The annoying thing with Armstrong is that hes kept around because he can be very effective in the SPFL.

The reality is hes holding back players like Ntcham, Kouassi etc who might make the difference at a higher level. He lacks the bottle.

This. There is a very good player there but his psychology is the main problem. Looks like he doesn't have it mentally.

The theory of Stuart Armstrong is sound.

In practice he's a shampooebag who goes hiding and can't pass the ball and does very little defensive work and plays his team mates into all sorts of trouble.

His athleticism gets him through games against the shampooe in Scotland but he's absolutely found out at a higher level.

He should just get to eff ASAP

I seriously doubt he could cut it in the English Championship. He is nowhere near strong enough to play Saturday - Wednesday - Saturday the way they do it. He would end up as as an impact sub type or only used in home games.
He jumps out of far too many challenges for that style of box to box midfielder that he is supposed to be!

It’s odd. There’s other players that play at similar levels to him at domestic level yet they’re nowhere near as bad as him in Europe. Is it a mentality thing or is his game not suited to teams that are better?

He's never really been consistent since he came here, showed periods where he was first pick and others when he was a liability.
Don't think that will change, punt.
