Rodgers sent Armstrong a very clear message last night, you're replaceable.
Aye and said it was an easy decision to pick Ntcham because we needed to keep the ball. Something Armstrong needs to work on.

Good news though. Like the proverbial new signing.

Am I right in saying the papers were reporting it was a 1 year extension to what he has left? Feel like i read that somewhere but can't see it now :ponder:

Paulthetim got his maths wrong on here last night and said it was an extension to 2019. He came back a bit later and apologised, said it was to 2020, but presumably the papers had already got their "exclusive" by that point.

Would expect Brown to be the one sitting out more between the 3.

Glad he's staying. Valuable member of the team and an excellent goal threat from midfield.

Not this year he won't. Brown is still first on team sheet.

Will be a great back up for Ntcham.
Are we expecting Ntcham to play as one of the two in front of the back 4 and to play as a box to box midfielder rather than an exclusively defensive mid? If he's there, there's still room for Armstrong in front of him with Sinclair and one other (Roberts? ) either side. So it'd be Rogic rather than Ntcham that Armstrong's competing with.

RTE saying he's signed. Not that they'll know anything.
Too true. Numpties. Hoping he has though.

Amateurs.

If it was the EPL they'd have it correct.

Delighted with this if it goes through. 2020 seems like a good balance. He either replicates and builds on the form of last season and becomes easily worth a contract equal to that of anyone currently at the club, or fetches us a much bigger fee than an insulting £3 mil. Alternatively, if things don't work out, it's not a huge risk to us and definitely a gamble worthwhile based on last season, and also the promising signs he showed during his first few months at the club which are often forgotten about.

On Ntcham, they seem like different types of players to me based on what we've seen so far. Brown won't be around forever, and a midfield of Armstrong, Ntcham with either Rogic or McGregor ahead of them, and Kouassi as a back up is a pretty good place to be in long-term.

I concur.

Brown/Kouassi/Bitton for DM role
Ntcham/Mcgregor/Armstong for box to box role
Rogic/Armstrong/Mcgregor for AM role
