if we are not improving our offer or altering it - and i don't see why we should given it would appear his agent has simply blanked us

then he should be out of the first team squad post astana (and given his form he probably won't get near playing) whether we are thru or not

there's a danger that his sale value to us drops but there's probably more of a danger to him that his deal worsens with absolutely no game time

simply leaving a deal on the table and keeping him playing till he gets to january aint an option
His so-called loss of form is a massive exaggeration. Aye, he's had a couple of games which he was poor in like others.
Whit? He's a been pish since the season began. How much of that is down to the "in his head" stuff and how much of it is down to hardly any Summer break I don't know but Armstrong has been a shadow of the guy who dominated games for us last season.
He's been as poor as Sinclair and Rogic.

I think the contract stuff is weighing him down but there's a few others who are toiling.

We've resorted to "he's no even that smart", what's next? "His hairs no even that good", "He's at most a 6/10"

Let's not overlook that Stuart has a mouth in his head, he could have spoken at any time over the last 6 weeks to state clearly that he wants to go/stay. It strikes me Stuart is playing a hard game here so let's call it just that, he's entitled to do that and get his best deal and that's exactly what he's doing, he's not a helpless bystander in all this
Well worded and to the point. Armstrong is an intelligent guy so he holds the aces, however I think we all would respect him more if he was honest and stated his intentions either way.
He's under no obligation to share anything about his private contract dealings with us fans. It couldn't be any less of our business. Him and the club are dealing with it. I want him to stay. If he doesn't then we'll have to deal with that.

Honestly the notion some fans have about what they should be privy to is mind boggling at times.
Couldn't agree with you more as at no point did I say he should share any personal matters, what he has been offered or what he wants is no business of mine, I would just like to know if he is staying or not which I think most would.

He's a great player who's not playing well at the minute.....it happens. Whether the contract talks are playing in his mind I don't know? But I for one hope he stays . People saying what you've quoted are talking shampooe .. simple . In saying that if the bhoy wants to leave , then let him go.

If Swansea are prepared to offer six, then I think we can push it to eight with add-ons. They are flush and will want to get him bedded in as quickly as possible. I like Armstrong but kindly put some salt and pepper on Swansea's shoulder -- I'm about to bite their arm off. :)

STUART ARMSTRONG is set to sign a new deal with Celtic within the next 48 hours.

SunSport understands there were further talks between his representatives and the club today and that progress had been made over a number of sticking points.

Both parties now believe that there will be a resolution to everyone’s satisfaction before the end of the week.

It’s understood Swansea City emerged as serious contenders to take the 25-year-old to the Premier League.

They viewed him as a potential replacement for Everton-bound Gylfi Sigurdsson and weren’t put off by the £6million asking price.

Armstrong’s advisers were criticised by Celts boss Brendan Rodgers on Tuesday over the length of time it’s taken for the midfielder’s new deal to be agreed.

Rodgers insisted: “It should have been organised, sorted and done six months ago.”

But all parties are now optimistic there will be an end to the stalemate over the next few days.

Hope the news is true. Would be great to see him get back to the form of the second half of last season.

Unless you are Lawell this doesn't make sense. We the fans don't benefit from the money. We benefit from having a great player and starting Scotland international in the squad.

We wouldn't get £6m at the end of this season if he's totally cr@p!
