"“There has been an offer there for a long time now which is a really, really good offer. But if representatives feel there are maybe other options for him - and we haven’t had an offer – and they want to wait and wait and wait and wait to see what happens then, okay, that’s what you do. But the player suffers"

“With all due respect, probably outside of Scotland nobody knew of him six months ago. That’s the reality of it. Over the course of the season he developed into a very good player. I still think this is the best place for him to develop.

“In Stuart’s situation I would love for him to have it resolved, but unfortunately it doesn’t look as if that will be in the immediate future. There will be reasons why which his representatives will have. I have got an idea of the reasons why.”

Stuck out to me. Carrots are probably telling him to ride out his contract if there are no offers which BR has said there hasn't been any offers for him

The real shame here is he's just had the best season of his life with a coach who has pushed him to play his best & show confidence & real improvement.

He's a smart kid too which leaves you scratching your head. His advisers will no doubt get him more money from a move to the meat markets down south. No doubt about that.

But he won't be playing like he was last season.

Rogers clearly wants him to stay and probably believes he can make him even better than he was last season.

If he can't see that he is best moving on. Very frustrating considering we've only really seen the "real" player for 1 season.

I don't actually blame the club for this at all.

I don't blame the representatives either. Surely they would make more money by him signing a new contract or getting him sold? Doing nothing and allowing his contract to wind down gives the reps absolutely hee-haw.

Players signed on a Bosman deal usually get a larger signing on fee which would mean more money for the agent.

He knows what the club pays. If that's okay then sign. If it's not ok, then go.

If he wants to prolong a 'negotiation' to the point where Celtic get screwed - and this is what it's looking like - then feck him.

No problem with anyone negotiating the best deal possible but he's not a Kenny Dalglish or Henrik Larsson.

You'll be rich either way Stuart...

There's every chance we have said he's not going anywhere until after the qualifiers. Always a risk that a player's mind is elsewhere. Might not be down to him though.

Perhaps but Brendan coming out and saying that is an indication of his exasperation with the player and his 'representatives.'

He's not that good and 6 good months out of four years doesn't make him worth the bother. I'll be underwhelmed wether he stays or goes.

He would have been one of the first picks tonight in a high profile match where he could have strutted his stuff and increased his profile even more.

Hope his agents enjoy seeing him warm up behind the goals( if he's lucky )

Total farce, and going by Brendans remarks, our board appear to be blameless on this one.

If he's a, "thinker..a clever guy" and taking that at face value, then he knows what his representatives are doing and he doesn't disagree with their strategy.
