Just sounded to me like Brendan was sending the board a message.
Is he really worth a huge wage though? He's had a decent half season for us and has started this season rather poorly. I like him but he still has a bit to prove.

Wouldn't surprise me to find out he was another Telfer.

Not really bothered about football, just a career to make as much money as possible as he has a talent for it.

Never has and never will be a Celtic fan. To expect any less than what is the best for him is just a waste of time. Punt!!!
It's a short career and who would grudge them getting a fair wage when they renew a contract?

We would all do the same in his position. He's not once gone to the media Moaning like some of the other chancers we've had in the past so no axe to grind with the guy at all.

As long as he's punted by end of the month if he doesn't sign a new deal then we can't complain.

The thing is, these performances so far are why we couldn't simply just say "ok, you can leave for free in a year". We won't get anything like last season's Armstrong, particularly late in the season, if he has something signed. He won't be plowing into challenges a la Brown at an Ibrox or a Pittodrie in the last 10 minutes if he knows a 70K weekly contract is sitting waiting for him in a couple of months. The sad reality is, if he doesn't sign any new deal, we'll need to sell him to make it worthwhile. If he does sign, then he'll be settled and will be back in the team properly.

It certainly reads that way. "Stuart wants to be at Celtic"... "Could have been sorted 6 or 7 months ago"

According to Brendan this isn't down to Armstrong.

This is looking and sounding increasingly like the classic case of a " One client Agent" wanting to make some money on his prize asset. Since the beginning, word has been that Armstrongs agent, an Indian Lawyer, has been unapproachable.

As with paddy I think we are dealing with dicks on other side

Here though a supposedly clever lawyer to be :suspect: is making a complete arse of his own future whilst allowing his agent who maybe doesn't represent many of his potential quality a free hand to negotiate

PL CSC :boxer:

Not to detract from the wider point that you're making, but what does the guy's nationality have to do with it?

It's not important to me, but it's the way I was told the story. And he lives here, not in India.

The issue is is his lawyer experienced in this matter

No is my understanding

Let's not turn this into the effin songbook debate

He's being badly advised imo and he's making a balls up himself controlling his agent and his footballs abject so only one person can sort this stuart effin Armstrong
