I'd take 5 million for him.

Why do we think we're getting a big fee for him in the last year of his contract? If folk are are suggesting values of 7.5 and upwards, how much would we be expecting to get if he had 2 years left? 20m?
Andre Grey went for 18.5m, in his last twelve months, 3m is a effing disgraceful offer.
Wasn't Ross McCormack sold for £11m a few years ago....?

If that's the sort of (admittedly ridiculous) ball-park we're in, then £3m is way short....

£3 million when they're due to bank at least £60 mil for VVD is beyond an insult. Especially given the amount of players we've sold to them - arguably for less than we should.

Like most, would rather he left for free next summer. Hope we can still somehow get him to stay long-term.

Should be holding out for EPL type fees for any of our players.

If he's not signing a new contract, punt to highest bidder. If £3m is the price, then so be it.

Realistically, we're not going to get anything like the fee one EPL club would pay another EPL club, not even close to it. If we're holding out for that, we'll have to resign ourselves to losing him for nothing next summer.

I'd rather take 30 good performances from Armstrong this season and let him leave for nothing next summer than accept £3m right now.

I'd take £3m and 100% of the profit on his next transfer. ;)
Give them the option of buying themselves out of that clause for £10m but to take advantage of this generous offer it must be excercised within the next 12 months.

that's a daft argument. We don't need Stuart Armstrong to win in Scotland, and he probably won't even make the side for the CL Qualifier.

Not saying we shouldn't cash in but we did need Stuart Armstrong to win and indeed draw several times last season.

Why would you want to keep him then let him go for free. Push for higher, he's worth more and the buyers have cash to burn, but I wouldn't want him going for free next year.

I hear you, but I'd be happy to make a sizeable donation to KDS Charity if Armstrong leaves and we don't win the League and at least one of the cups , assuming a counter offer comes in.

You get what I mean. Armstrong would be a loss.

3m, I'd honestly be inclined to keep him and wear his beautiful hair out over the season. He's a very good player and one - despite the multitude of midfielders - we don't have anything like.

don't get me wrong, I really like Armstrong, but for the guy to suggest we need 30 good performances from him before letting him leave for nothing just isn't an argument. If he doesn't sign a new deal soon, sell him for £3m if that's the best offer we get. We can't afford to lose that kind of money.

Aye, maybe so. Had hoped this wouldn't be an issue with this contract.

Wanted this tied up yonks ago.
