Hope Huddersfield get relegated and he's sat at home in tears watching us beat Arsenal in the Europa League final

Someone commented to me last week he was off to Huddersfield for £53K per week - after CL Qualifiers - ambition !
No way they're giving him that.

They're a cert to get relegated. He'll enjoy a midweek away trip to Barnsley or Burton while we're in Madrid or Munich.

Ah well. I liked you Stuart but if you're not going to stay then I like you a lot less.

All the best. Enjoy the cash.

Armstrong has had a bang average career bar one superb season. I can't imagine his wage has been that high in football terms. I can totally understand why he is going for a big pay day.

Dont get the bitterness if he leaves. We wont miss him much now. Our central midfield is strong enough to cope.

First team training

Heard similar over past few weeks that he was defo offski, with brighton and southampton mentioned. Apparently Armstrong was on 7k , was offered 14k, max we would go was 20/25k but
clubs done south are prepared to pay 45/50k. Not being a celtic fan can see why his head was turned.

He could do worse than look at his CM partners career. Him and Broony are different types of players, similar quality level, broony decided to stay at celtic even when his form was patchy
(pre lenny) and interest from newcastle etc. Guys like McCarthy and McArthur have gone down there and done decent, although in and out of mid table teams and both troophyless. However Brown is now a club legend at Celtic. esp if he captains us to TIAR and battled against some of the best players on the biggest stage in europe. Although guys like McAthur, james Morrison and now shortly Armstrong, may make a bit more money, feel being loved the way Broony is at celtic, trumps the extra few quid you get for being a southampton squad player or battling relegation with brighton.

Also, the type of player Armstrong is, very confidence based and needs the right system to perform, adjusting gonna be an issue. Im not sure if hes good enough to perform his role in a team
that losses more than they win. Finally Armstrong although decent at Utd and had again a decent start to his celtic career, has only shown to be a gd/gr8 player from november onwards
last season, whilst workin under a top class manager who's got a reputation for getting the best out his players.

Anytime Armstrong is mentioned in the media, theres always a reference to his intelligence, law degree etc but think he should have looked at Broonys career and the love he gets as a template instead of leaving at the first op. Like him as a footballer but very few players, esp offensive ones, leave Celtic to go on to better things and feel that without a manager that gets him and style of play that plays to his strengths, he'll struggle to make an impression.

edit. Apparently he's signing for us now  . Take it back hes Brilliant
