Needs Dropped.

Or a rocket up his arse.

Or both.
Or to just not have a stinker in the next game? Some ridiculously harsh comments.
He's been Rank for the last few games mate.

We all know how good he can be, and I have no doubt he will come back onto form again but he has been putting in the performances we were used to in RD's team.

Nothing wrong with dropping a player for a bit to give them a shake.
We have lots of options in that role other than Armstrong. I think he's a confiendence player and he's lacking it at the moment for whatever reason, perhaps feeling threatened by ntcham?

Had a poor night but the criticism is well over the top and likely stems from the fact he's not signed a new deal yet.

He was definitely the poorest player on the park tonight.

I disagree.

Brown was worse. The two of them struggled with match sharpness which is always going to happen playing against a team who are half way through their season.

He rightly gets praised when he performs brilliantly, liked he did for 6 months last season.

Its only fair he gets pelters when he is poor.

He has been poor for the last few games mate.

Why aren't Brown and Sinclair taking similar levels of stick?

Brown has been Rank as well.

Sinclair, poor going forward but I thought he was excellent defensively in the 2nd half.

If you look back on my posts re: Armstrong I've been one that has said he needs to kick on from last season and show that he is the player he was for 6 months. He's still got to prove that he can be that player regularly for me but some of the comments on here are wide of the mark.

Armstrong has the attributes we need to succeed. Players like Armstrong also feel the effects when we don't have a striker. It's harder for him to get forward where he is more dangerous when the ball doesn't stick.

Talk of him being free to leave, or not starting ahead of McGregor again etc I just don't agree with. We'd be much better off with him - and we'd be much better off with him in the team ahead of McGregor most weeks as well.

Dont disagree with any of that.

I am only commenting on his current form and I really dont think dropping him for a couple of games would hurt.

Would want to keep him if possible - his present form notwithstanding.

If not, fair does:
1] Sell him for 8 - 10 million to some cash rich English mob
2] Add money from VVD sell-on clause
3] Buy McCarthy :)

Getting on a bit

Too weak on the ball against decent European opposition. Doesn't protect the back four well enough when we had to defend. His petulant charge on Bentner could have cost us big time. The other shot that missed the near post in the second half, he didn't close down the guy quick enough. His rather brusque handshake with Brendan when substituted might suggest that Brendan has had enough of him. His poor passing tonight could have put KT in hospital on about three occasions!
Sign or punt asap

Why aren't Brown and Sinclair taking similar levels of stick?
Cos they've committed themselves to the club for the coming season?

I thought Brown was good tonight, while Sinclair worked really hard.
He was also heavily involved in the winning goal.

Thought Brown got bullied at times tonight and looked a yard off the pace.

At least he didn't launch the ball out of play regularly like the first leg though.

Is 'Brown got bullied' the new 'Lustig is injury prone?'

Something people say even if it isn't really true?

Shouldn't start in front of McGregor again.
x2

Time to move on.

McGregor, Nchamp, Eboue all pushing for places. Even Benyu.

Include Broony in this, even if "resting" him more often than previous.

Time & tide, wait for no man.

Go and watch the game again - he wasn't able to impose himself as he usually does and got out muscled on many occasions.

I'm putting it down to match sharpness - but it happened.

Brown barely put a foot wrong tonight.
