An intelligent player. Just not a very effective one.

Armstrong wasn't our worst player but didn't contribute as much as he could after we went down to 10 men. Despite this he, and GMS and Johansen, tried to cover the man disadvantage by getting about the pitch. We had one midfielder who didn't do anything today and it wasn't any of the aforementioned.

Had plenty of chances, he's not cut out for here. Move him on as soon as possible.

Seems looking 'elegant' but being an utter shampooebag is enough for some.

When this thread came to the top I was surprised that I hadn't contributed to it before, given how little I think he offers to the team.

As I said in the game thread, I would much rather have kept McGregor on than him.
Being played out of position is not a sufficient excuse for just how badly he has performed overall.

Astonishing that either he or Johansen weren't the first in line to be hooked.

It really wasn't. Bitton was far and away our worst performer today. All the others, while shampooe, put a shift in.

Armstrong was honking. To be fair I did say that I had forgotten that Bitton was on the park in the second half. But Armstrong clearly wasn't working out wide. He was slow to close down space and when he was on the ball he was useless. Everyone around me was wanting him hooked so it wasn't just me

It's understandable if Armstrong was right in front of you while being shampooe that you'd call for him to go off but believe me Bitton was utterly dreadful and put in a coward's shift today.

Armstrong was on the other side. I was in the South stand. I agree that Bitton was minging. I said as recently as yesterday that he's very nice when you're winning but doesn't get the game by the scruff of the neck. I'd still have Armstrong below him on the rogues gallery today. That's not saying much, mind.

He's been a lot better recently but today shows he's still flirting between being top class and pretty average.

If you're playing poorly, up your work rate.

Awful today.

As poor as he was today,i think he has the makings of a fine footballer. Playing out of position not helping at all.

Players like Armstrong are exactly what's wrong with this Celtic team.

All tidy footballers when the goings good and your 4-0 up at home to Partick thistle or the likes. But when the going gets tough they're far far too soft, spineless lack leadership and have no experience of what's required.

You could add at least 6 or 7 players into the same bracket. It's embarrassing.

He's not playing out of position.
An utter, utter myth.

Are you saying his natural game is to be on the wing? If he's a winger i'm Franco baresi.
