Probably the lad with the most potential. Occasional glimpses of genius. Needs to work on his fitness and consistency

Could very well be the player to take over from Broony when he retires. In both playing position AND captaincy.

Another for the he isn't a left sided player list. He just doesn't have the pace for it.

He is a decent player with potential but needs to start showing more.

Talent is there and we seem not to be using him correctly. Impressed at United and they had a poorer squad than us. That suggests we are doing something wrong in getting the best of him. He has talent and vision.

I really rate him. Whilst I don't think it's his best position I don't mind seeing him down the left, he brings height and industry out wide which we haven't seen since Sammy.

Only things is that he isn't that quick over short distances. He wont beat a man over 5 yards very easily, but he is quick over large distances.

He's not been helped by injury problems and the good form shown by Commons and Rogic. He's been shoehorned into that wide left position but it's not where his talents lie. He might get a crack at playing regularly next season if some of the attacking midfielders move on in the summer.

not sure what the logic behind that statement is. my view would be the opposite. players get the chance to shine in weaker squads. they get more game time, less pressure to perform added with the psychological boost of being a big fish in a small pond. confidence is at a premium. take them out of their comfort zone and many don't perform. some need a period of adjustment and some just don't make it. id put armstrong in the former bracket

People are aware that he's played most of his career now out on the left? Central isn't his position.
He's had a few games in the middle and most on here were on complaining that he was pish.

Guys just back from injury, we seen last season against Inter that he can step it up. Just let the guy get a run of games.

I wasn't convinced before his signing and never quite understood the clamour for his signing.
I'm beginning to wonder if he's the type of player that looks better in a different squad (for example Willo Flood who is/was much better at Utd than at Celtic)

That said perhaps the comments on playing him more centrally would benefit him. His pass and go style is hard when your only option is out on the flanks.
A player I quite like but again not quite sure what he brings to this Celtic set up. A change of formation and or position may be required.

Reminds me of Joe Ledley. Not a hugely influential player but does his job well.

Would like to see him more involved but hopefully that will come with him coming back into the fold after injury.

I like him.

Erm, no.
I'm talking about players who fit better into certain teams.

I used Flood as an example, not a comparison. :ponder:

I think he's a good player but needs a chance in the middle because he's definitely not a left winger. Thought he might get a chance with Johansen off form but wasn't expecting Rogic to appear.

He's as good as we're going to get to fill one of those Home Grown European squad places.

Will probably be at Burnley in 3 years time.
