Hope Armstrong stays, would sell Bitton and possibly Henderson...we'd have plenty in the midfield positions...especially with Kouassi virtually being a new signing, a new left back to replace Izzy and a CB and winger and i'd be happy.

Seriously?? :ffs: That's piss poor.
Aye, not many but still pissed me right off.
His agent seems to be effing the club around. And he's delayed signing a deal from January.

I'm not an Armstrong hater in the slightest, but can see why he'd be a target for the boo-boys.

Heard the booing in JS upper. Was subtle but audible, and uncalled-for.

I have watched celtic for over 35 years now and think he is good player but we will not miss him as we will evolve and move on as we have always done even when some of the Celtic greats moved on.

He'll be missed if he maintains the form of last year.

I think another year would be his best bet, show up in Europe and internationally and pick your team.

On the basis that his leaving no matter what which is the preferred scenario?
Sell Armstrong now get what we can and play this season without him.
Accept that he is leaving on a free next summer but get the benefit of him this season knowing that Christie is coming back a more experienced player ready hopefully to are into that role.

Was possibly my favourite player last season, which is some going considering the high performance level of a number of players. But if he isn't signing we need to punt him before this window shampoos while we can still get a premium for him.

I said to the wee fella a couple of people might boo him - never heard anything though other than cheers.

Was it punters in the standing section?
It certainly not the standing section, I didn,t hear any booing him

I love the way some people here would knock back a 30k (if said figure is to be believed) weekly increase in salary  He has been excellent for us - last season. No big shakes if he leaves - we'll get money and it is a position we seem to be really strong in. If he stays great.
Yep. We've got Rogic, Ntcham, McGregor, Benyu, Bitton and Brown who can all play in one or more of the positions that Armstrong was used in last season. Henderson and youths like Miller too. We could even recall Christie from his loan if we really wanted to.

He is a very good player who we would miss, but if his head's been turned and the fee being offered meets our valuation then we should let him go. With a fee of £10m we could buy another winger, centre half and cover at one or both full back positions.
My thoughts exactly.
Our finances are considerably helped by getting players in, making them better and then selling them for a nice profit.
The fact that Stuart is the latest on the conveyer belt should be a good thing , even though it's hard to accept.

...but there is absolutely zero chance we'll get anywhere near £10m for Armstrong. We'd be lucky to get £5m for a player whose contract is running down.

We will get what a buying club offers for him.

Ross Barkley has a year left on his contract and Everton want £50m for him
