I love the way some people here would knock back a 30k (if said figure is to be believed) weekly increase in salary  He has been excellent for us - last season. No big shakes if he leaves - we'll get money and it is a position we seem to be really strong in. If he stays great.

I really hope he stays.

I think a midfield of him, Broony and Ntcham would be unreal. Plus Rogic in there, particularly if we are moving to three at the back then there will be room for all four of them. Hubba hubba.

We may well be losing his goals, but we also were happy to sacrifice a 40-goal striker last season for what the manager felt would be a better balanced all-round team with more threat from more areas.

Someone else, maybe already signed, could well be a step up in lots of things Armstrong can do (even if he doesn't give us the same goal return). We'll need to see how that develops. There's also no guarantee that Armstrong would hit that many again.

We need better as a squad/first team than we had in last year's Champions League. Armstrong has turned out to be a cracking player but, the same as everyone in the team, if we can strengthen the position then we should.

I'd definitely prefer it if he stayed though.

Yep. We've got Rogic, Ntcham, McGregor, Benyu, Bitton and Brown who can all play in one or more of the positions that Armstrong was used in last season. Henderson and youths like Miller too. We could even recall Christie from his loan if we really wanted to.

He is a very good player who we would miss, but if his head's been turned and the fee being offered meets our valuation then we should let him go. With a fee of £10m we could buy another winger, centre half and cover at one or both full back positions.

Agree with this.
I take on all the points about his goals etc. but I don't think we'll miss him as much as we would he. If this had been a couple
of seasons back.
I like the guy, I do rate him and I'd rather he stayed but I don't honk he'll be as big a miss as is being made out

In that list i'd only rather keep Brown and Rogic before Armstrong.

Still early days for Ntcham and Benyu and there's no way i'm having Bitton, Henderson or Miller before Stuart either. McGregor is a bit closer but still off.

I said to the wee fella a couple of people might boo him - never heard anything though other than cheers.

Was it punters in the standing section?

Nope. I am in there.

The standing section burst into the Stuart Armstrong song.

I never heard any boos, I heard lots of cheers and the Stuart Armstrong song which I think is crap. He's been brilliant the last year, I'd love him to stay, but if the money's right, then he can go with my blessing and that basically is the same for every player at CP.

Really?
He had a good (not brilliant) 6 month period, before that he was pretty average. it's not as if we build a team around him
I like the guy and he's a decent player but you'd think he was Paul McStay the way some people are banging on
Don't get me wrong, I'd like him to stay because I think he can still improve but we've lost better players and survived
He's no Paul McStay.

Armstrong can shoot
Take a wee visit to you tube JT you will see Paul banging in a few pearlers.
