yet another rumour from someone on the hb

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Which firm is offering odds on his next club?
Can you not walk into a bookie and request a price?
Maybe for Messi or Ronaldo, probably less so for Stuart Armstrong.

Don't shoot the messenger. Armstrong.

A fellow Celtic fan in my work has a pal whose girlfriend is pals with Armstrong's girlfriend.

According to this pal, his girlfriend has been told that he's for the off in a move to Southampton for around £10million and it could be concluded in the next few days. He's even put £100 on it himself.

My pal in work isn't for bullshampooting and I've seen the chat on his phone.

Any, as the title says, don't shoot the messenger. I'm simply passing on what I've just seen and heard.

Also, no roolz for teh burds mentioned.
A six degrees of separation rumour.

We could have got to someone who had been to an acid house party with the pope in less moves.
Is Moyes still getting the Manager's job?

All this talk of this being the same as the Liam Miller situation. He was wanted by Man Utd and you can understand a young lad's head being swayed by that. Armstrong is being linked with a bunch of no-marks rich on Sky money. If he goes to one of them it's clear that he's only interested in the money. I'd rather he stayed but he's not irreplaceable

Comparisons with Miller are nonsense.

The anger from the support directed at Miller was because the club had stood by him during a lengthy period of injury and he then fecked off to join Man Utd reserves as soon as he broke through to the first team.

Arguably players like Miller or Islam Feruz who have come through our youth system owe the club a debt and that's why they get pelters if they are perceived to be looking out for their own interest at the expense of the club.

Armstrong on the other hand was brought in to do a job for the team, which he has done to a varying standard. If he believes his career and/or bank balance is best served by seeing out his contract then that's his prerogative - he's done the work we hired him for and been paid for it so nobody owes anyone a debt.

I'll be disappointed if Armstrong goes, but only because we'll be losing a very good (on last seasons form at any rate) player, but I'll wish him well and have no criticism of him or anyone at the club for a failure to agree a new contract that suits both parties.

So he's 1/20 to remain at Celtic then? Sound.

I wonder if last season has made Armstrong question what more he can achieve. CL progress would be great, but the reality is that the top clubs still have so much money that any potential CL group could be another plucky battle for 3rd place at best.

He wasn't raised as a Celtic fan, he has just been pivotal in one of our most historic seasons and after 7 years in the SPL it's not a huge surprise that he may want to try the bigger leagues.

If he does go then I hope he is a resounding success and inspires more young Scottish players to stick at their game and come through the ranks.

call me petty, but quickly startling to dislike him quite a lot.

6 good months off the back of a year of utter shampooe, some of the worst performances in a Celtic jersey I've ever seen. To me, it's ungrateful to both the club and the manager that turned his career around.

He should stay until we are ready to sell him, pretty unbelievable that he feels he has any say in where he plays

Plenty on here, including me, would have happily seen him punted last summer. Anyone taking the hump with him personally now because he's played his way into a position where he can decide his own future is being very petty indeed.
