As long as we get the proper fee. I hate the idea of some diddy EPL team getting a player like him for 5 million when they splash on out double and treble that on dross.
We pick up players cheap compared to them though, can't have it all ways.

If we get 15m in for him + the VVD sell-on, we should have more cash to spend, there was surely some in the pot even before those after last season? Hopefully get another big player in if we get through to CL. That level of player will likely want that on the table.

CL is overrated , it's not going to be the winner when the alternative is double your wages . I can't blame him or Celtic to be honest . It's the shampooty market that's to blame.

Any player worth his salt wants to play in it, arguably the biggest competition in the whole of football (unfortunately as I'm one of the few that still loves the World Cup)

I wouldn't blame him for chasing the money, I'd do the same.

From his POV, the offers on the table from down south might not be there next summer.
So, I don't blame him at all. Good luck to him and hope we get a right few quid.

That's exactly how i see it. No issue with him leaving at all. Its not as if their haggling over £5k a week,he's getting offers we can never match.

There's a lot of competition in centre mud now and a return to old form could see him on the fringes. If he's doubling his money it's a no brainer. Not a fan of hanging on to guys who don't want to be here so if true, cash in.

Losing Roberts and Armstrong in the same summer is a boot in the baws.

I really hope he stays, but If he has offers of double the salary we can provide then he would be crazy not to go. He has came in as an excellent prospect and although he stalled for a bit, he would leave us as a proven talent. I also think that he can go further again and get another step up from the mid table dross of the EPL.
If we can also get a hefty transfer fee then it turns into a reasonable deal for everyone.

Agreed. Maybe Ntcham or Eboue will replace Armstrong and it won't make much of a difference but it feels like we've lost one of our most important players and we're about to lose another.

If true a bit of a shampooe move after Brendan rescuing his career and saving him from years at a mid table Scottish club. If he goes hopefully get a good wedge for him, once Ntcham is up to speed he'll be forgotten about anyway.

It amazes me how little credit Armstrong gets for how his Celtic career has turned out.

There is no guarantee that Armstrong will start for us next season if he decides to stay. That will probably sway his decision to leave for more money.

I don't recall Van Dijk, Wanyama or Forster being subjected to the same "he's making a huge mistake" type posts when they left Celtic for Southampton. Is that because most people felt, unlike Armstrong, they were good enough to use Southampton as a stepping stone to something better? Or is it because we've progressed as a team over the past 12 months to the extent that folk now see us as a much better proposition than a couple of years ago?

The money will be a big factor but he might just be ready for a change after playing up here for 7 or 8 years. Wouldn't be the first player to get fed up playing the same teams 4 times a season.

I'd like to keep him but won't have any bad feeling towards him if he goes. Would be a kick in the baws if he left for nothing next season though.

Just got a text saying Armstrong is 100% off. Has offers of more than double what we are offering from down south. Don't shoot the messenger
Is he normally right on these things?
Thats poor form asking for verification. You are meant to weep uncontrollably and blame Lawwell or greed or something.

Good player over the past year, but he's one I've no really taken to, so no tears.

Hope he adds to our reputation as a good place to go once he's down there, if he does go.

Woah, woah, woah. Three days ago Rodgers said that he thinks Armstrong wants to stay and that he's waiting to hear from his agent.

Let's all wait and see.
